thats sales not losses... who is to say that the ako is the best at not dying and so many mko sales is down to heavy losses?.......even though i know thats not true you can't judge anything by sales alone.
my own experience is the only stats i need to know on scouts and its mostly cko i come up against

Though all of the scouts experienced a rise in use around the beginning of November, the mk.0 appears to be the only suit experiencing sustained usage while the rest experienced a decline between the beginning of November and now. Probably just testing them out. If that is the case, the Mk.0 seems to pass the test with flying colors. I can think of a few possibilities as to what's driving the sustainability of the Scout Mk.0. It could be that it is technically the fastest scout suit in the game and that players like to get to the action as soon as possible and are probably not patient enough to wait for a vehicle to get called in to take them. Their speed is perfect for getting to objectives fast and getting out fast along with dodging most shots coming at them which makes up for the lack of EWAR. It might also be that they are the only suits that can enable a player to OHK a heavy suit with just nova knives but that would be highly unlikely given how difficult it is to wield the knives without dying too much. I have been seeing a lot of Minscouts lately since last November. The funny thing is that these suits are nowhere near being OP. In fact, a lot of players regard the Minscouts as hard-mode suits that only dedicated players who enjoy a challenge would use. And with the lowest CPU/PG compared to other suits, I'm not really 100% sure what's causing this sustainability.
It's freaking fun, that's why.
Go suit up in one. It's hard to go back, because sprinting around knifing people is just damn fun.

They are like little versions of Wolverine. Going crazy and laughing like hyenas trying to cut you with their claws (knives). Whether they succeed or they die, they are always laughing. You can blast holes in them repeatedly, but they keep trying.
Minjas are crazy.
And a good one is terrifying.
I know I'm doing my job right when I see heavies constantly turning around to check their six.
Or when you knife one person and can feel when the rest of his squad are now out for blood.
Catch me if you can dudes, and NEVER blind turn a corner. Take every corner wide.

Amarr Scout usage will continue to decline until EWAR is changed or it is given a perk to replace precision. The suit's drawbacks and opportunity costs outweigh any benefit afforded by its strength in scan precision. |

I mean, I could pretty easily create graphs using the data. In fact, I'll do it now.
Dual tanking is for bad players.

Minjas are crazy. Can confirm. I spent around about 25 million isk in a weekend a few weeks ago running nothing but proto minja, and even though my wallet's going to need weeks of therapy to make up for it, it was worth it. In fact I probably drove up these sales figures a little bit on my own. Nothing quite as fun as running a triple kincatted minja.

Yeah Maken, maybe you should try out the mk.0, you might like it

Dreis Shadowweaver wrote:Do these include sales from the LP store? I know that some scouts are missing, but it may be useful to know that all my Scout MK.0's come from the LP store. If this isn't taken into account, the data may be inaccurate. Heck, the data is probably skewed due to the missing suits in the LP store anyway.
No these are ISK prototype variants only. We do not have access to LP or AUR sales data.
I am working on a way to compile this data efficiently for all of the suits.
As far as the MK.0 goes the pattern it has makes me think two things.
1. The people running them tend to die enough that they stock up on hundreds at a time which is the cause for the huge spikes with lows in between in my opinion.
2. The MK.0 seems to be the choice for casual players.
Something else that I cant really say is from the data but I think a lot of this trend is from use in PC. |

CCP, Chribba, and anyone who can put together excellent graphs using the CREST API would be the ones to be able to provide the proper graphs we're looking for.
Unfortunately the CREST api does not seem to make this data too accessible (right now). As far as I can tell from the Tech Lab they are still working on making past market data accessible via this means.
I plan on making the trip with my alt to compile full data but wanted to gauge interest before spending several days to put everything together. |

This is cool.
Could you do the same thing except with sentinels?

I'd personally check in regularly for updates. I really like Dust.thang.dk's historical graphs and market data charts, but the data doesn't seem to be updated very often. |

You just have to pull data for each region.

I've been working on generating graphs in a standalone tool, and it works well I just need to fix an issue with my months being offset wrong when I get around to it, but for now it looks like this
Notice: This image doesn't have actual data behind it. It's just random noise for the sake of testing the rendering.

Hmm I could not find anything about it in the tech section but Im not really familiar with CREST at all so could not even be sure where to look.
If you want to get together I would be glad to build an application to download and database the data server side automatically and you can generate the graphs off of that. Let me know and we can get together on skype and chat about it. |
