I would not care about strafing if it was actually throwing player aim off that made it work. Currently strafing works because of poor hit detection, it is essentially glitching the game. |

ITs not because its done better. Its because its EASIER to do (and comes out better) with a Keyboard and mouse there by doing something i cannot do unless i invest money.
This is why i ''bend'' out of shape.

Yes, but when someone crouches out in the open, it slows them down. I would think that it increases the change of them getting hit. I certainly kill crouchers easily due to their slowness.
Cover can be difficult to use in this game because of the slippery slidey action that occurs when you peek out to fire and then jump back behind cover.
People will organically learn to use the most effective technique, which in many circumstances, due to the lack of proper cover, or the difficulty of using cover well, is to strafe and return fire.

Everyone in the game can strafe. Every suit can strafe. If a tactic is available to everyone then no one has an advantage, and I'm not convinced on the kb/m argument.
Strafing is a valid FPS tactic. I strafe in a scout suit, assault suit, hell, I even strafe when I use my scrubby "Warlord" sentinel. I do it without even thinking.
How would you effectively remove it? In DUST, we can't really peak around corners. Strafing is an essential part of survival.

The thing is in this game, EVERYONE strafes in cqc. It's whether you've learnt to anticipate their movements and how fast your reactions are that matters. If you spray and pray, you'll lose. All fps' are this way.
If you remove strafing, you end up turning this game into an HD fps version of a win95 rpg. "Compass point" moving would not suit this game.

No, because it is a silly mechanic for a shooter. While I understand the necessity for and the differences of real life and a game, it is just stupid to be able to dance to avoid bullets.

While I understand the necessity for and the differences of real life and a game, it is just stupid to be able to dance to avoid bullets. it is a hybrid game tho, it's both tactical and dance shooter mixed.. if you want pure tactical you have to play BF4 hardcore mode.
there is a scissor to the paper that is a strafer and that is the MD... heavy is the rock tho so when you come up against one with MD your useless unless your running CR/MD on mincommando, but then you have to put up with being knifed all the time in a slow suit not the greatest for ewar either..
the one thing i do like about dust is it's not a pure dance shooter there are options to end someone fairly quick but every fitting has it's counter. like MD you need to position yourself correctly to get kill with rifle it's more organic to respond to any situation, but harder to kill a strafer.. in order to completely remove strafing the game would have to be redesigned from the ground up. all this would do would make dust even more niche than it already is since ppl expect strafing in any FPS. if i wanted a game without strafing i would play resident evil 2.

It's a myth created by idiots who want to think they're good when they are not, and have to make up stupid excuses for their failures. You can turn faster with a mouse. That is the only difference. Now we got that out of the way - Yes. Strafing is too fast please nerf.
Also, jumping really doesn't help during a gunfight. If someone jumps in front of you, it's easy to see where they are going to land. Just aim there and they die when they hit the floor. |

This is simply an excuse used by bad players in attempts to justify their mistakes. It's a myth created by idiots who want to think they're good when they are not, and have to make up stupid excuses for their failures. You can turn faster with a mouse. That is the only difference.
I used the KB/M in Chrome so to be fair the KB does allow you to switch directions slightly faster. It also allows you to go full speed while turning in a tank or at least it used to.

Its just sad. GIVE US BACK CHROMOSOME! You just mad cause your fat with all your plates and your breach AR can't keep up with a sheild suit. Lol you can't aim, because you are bad at this. Gallente scum.... I don't even like being a heavy dude. I kind of hate it.
And anyway stupid, I was shooting at a gallente suit with a laser and magsec. Not using a breach AR. Plus I had no plates!
The least you could of done before proceeding to be a needlessly malicious prat was to practice your reading skills a bit more, yeah?

just because other players do it better then them. wft people? ITs not because its done better. Its because its EASIER to do (and comes out better) with a Keyboard and mouse there by doing something i cannot do unless i invest money. This is why i ''bend'' out of shape. What is worst is that these people , ehem...actually think is skill....XD
KBM is seriously outgunned in close quarters - to - mid range fights thanks to overeffective AutoAim.
