If the numbers show that the HMG is still overperforming, then for the next nerf simply disable aim assist.
Should cause a SHARP drop in efficiency.

Removing AA from such a weapon will make it completely up against scout and assault strafers, try out the acr and hmg on m/kb(esp acr) so you can have an idea how much they rely on aa to do their role.
I would prefer if there was a small spoolup time, as i feel sad for all the newbies that have no chance against my boundless.
Edit: On a side note, ads and crouching should actually be made tactical and viable, and nerfe hipfire of all rifles(except ar), so that you would actually have to focus more on aiming than strafing. |

This is the normal state of things for me. I run M/kb with raw input and have only recently began running an emulator to test how much difference the AA makes.
The answer?
A rediculously inordinate amount.
I'd rather have a good gun and good aim than some aimbot handicap.
I can aim, but I'm of the opinion that heavy weapons should never benefit from aim assist.

Give it a deployed state like the heavy bolster from space marine...making it less effective on the move. Heavies are supposed to be defensive suits...my .02 is worth
Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.
I believe all these roles are support for front line soldiers.

we've been over this before. If you can fit it as you wish, it fits whatever role you wish it to.

Then why do slayer logis get so much heat? (Not saying it's from you, but that the fit it for a roll thing doesn't seem to enter some of the community's mind)

Because it outperformed all of the other suits hands down. It's no longer a thing, and it's well known what caused it. It won't become a thing again, it's a tinfoil hat people like to trot out and bang on to look like they have a clue.

Ok, good to know people freaking out about my favorite suit could use some additional tinfoil. I still think that the HMG working more similar to the heavy bolter would be an overall positive change, but ok...heavies aren't exclusively defensive suits...make Assault HMGs the ones that fire while mobile then?
(I'm not in favor of disabling AA on one particular weapon, I think any changes to AA should be an all or nothing thing...that's the only reason I don't agree with your idea 100%)

Should cause a SHARP drop in efficiency. You could also put in the other heavy weapons so we're not so tightly tied to the HMG. Im a dedicated heavy and would love to spec into other weapons as well.

Single shot alpha weapons are excluded from AA. I think that heavy weapons should not benefit from aim assist.

You mean it'll make it UP for people who don't know how to actually aim?

You mean it'll make it UP for people who don't know how to actually aim? Pretty much this. I'm ok with the HMG without AA. I'm much better with forge guns and mass drivers.
