What you describe is why I specced forge gun and never looked back.
Except for gunnlogis, vehicle spam allows me to maintain my fireball farm and rake in WP. There is nothing sweeter to a dedicated AV nerd than tanks and dropships all over the field, and the tears are sweeter than the best of aged wines.
Just accept that you are only going to be able to yo-yo gunnlogis unless there are three of you.
But a sentinel suit loaded and locked with a forge gun is a magical thing. Patience, viciousness and a willingness to fight dirty mark successful AV gunners. Skip swarms, forge guns, when skilled up are much more efficient.
Would you like to know more?
I take a slightly different approach, but I love it when the enemy spams tanks and ads. Its the only time I get to use my pro swarms. Adv mimmando, w 2 cmplx dmg mods, pro swarms cleans up the problem quite well, and when the ground troops tries to shut you up theres a six kin acr to handle that problem.
Usually you can turn that redline match into something if its early enough in the game. When those tankers see Wyrikomi in the kill feed they usuallly dont waste another tank. Then as long as your team hasn't given up you can regain the momemtum.
A lot of big corp try to use the "shock and awe" and try to intimidate the team into not being aggressive, but if you can deny their initial strike, most will back down as they are trying to conserve isk, or worried about kdr, or whatever the excuse.
OP, whether you go forge or swarms, look at vehicles as easy wp. Just dont keep respawning and running into some tanks blaster over and over. |

Are you serious?
Any match I start that has a squad of any big name corp (even the one your in) pulls out their best gear to try to dominate match from start.
If opposing team takes out their tanks and ads, and a few of their proto suits, im my experience that pro squad either switches to cheaper gear or leaves.
Granted some matches are a total slaughter for both sides all the way to the end. Either both sides are using bpo's and don't care or they got the isk accounts to say f'it.
But the majority of the time one team or another can make the other one pretty much quit trying.
I'm not picking on ML but I remember a game they had us redlined w 3 tanks and I eventually took them all out, not before dying a few times myself but after the initial swatting of tanks, no one called anymore in,and the team was finally able to come back out of the redline. We lost like hell, but I wasn''t gonna sit there and get pummeled by blaster fire. Also, sometimes all that is needed to re-inspire your team to keep pushing forward is that one dumb anus who just wont give up and finally pushes the big boys back. So there is an example, if I get into a match today where it happens I'll tell that story too.
Battlefield morale goes a long way, though. Just seeing a full squad or two on enemy team is enough psychological warefare to know your about to get handed your ass and make entire team not try as hard. Am I wrong? |
