Noneck raged on coms, 8213-style, & some was recorded and posted in this thread. As far as I know, the issue is still being dealt with.

How boring of a policy.... I would never agree to something like that. All the alliance policies we had in the past was related to corps/leadership and not their members. Most basic alliance meant that a corp was safe from that other corp in terms of getting attacked. And if you needed their members they would gladly step in and fight when you were missing your members. But to force someone to not ring for a team fighting your corp because you DID NOT need them and they were simply wanting play time in a PC is a NO NO. If you needed them and they rang against you is a different story... could be debatable. But telling them not to ring is the equivalent of someone paying me a contract to NOT fight for someone. It's like me telling you to not log onto dust in order to keep someone from asking you to ring.... what's the point of getting a game if you are not gonna play because someone asked you too... sure there is pubs and fw.... but one thing we all agree on is that they are not the same as PC. And it sucks that a lot of people get sit out in order to get other people to fight the "good fights." Back in the day I had no idea if I was gonna get a spot in a PC or not. And every time I didn't get a spot, sure enough I was on the other side fighting my own guys. And they hated it..... not because I rang against them.... but because i went ham on them. But we all knew that you could only get good by fighting the best... and if the best is in the same corp than you will not get better by fighting corps that are not as good. Also, corpmates tend to under appreciate what you can contribute when you are always on the same team. It's only when you fight one another that you realize how much you need them on your side. I can mention a lot of people in my corp and say they are good.... not because of the numbers that appears at the end of the screen when our names are above one another... but by getting rekted by them in FW or PC when fighting each other. You cant learn what a person is capable of by fighting in the same squad. You must pit yourselves against one another and push each other to your limits... only then can you both become strong... and when that happens and you guys team up again.... Respect to Z and the FA boys for an about-face right quick about integrating, pitching in and taking up a forward stance on Alliance affairs way back then. Not ringing against your own Alliance was my hard-line rule from day one (unless it was ok'd by all parties pre-match)...its no different than ringing against your own corp. Family is family and if that isn't respected than the door is that-a-way. Pretty obvious though that there were other issues that lead to this situation. Great post with the ring of truth that so many of the hate-crowd lack. And, having been present for part of the conversation surrounding the matter, it was my impression that one of Roman's biggest issues was not with what the rule was about - it was that the way you deal with rules you don't like isn't to blatantly ignore them. It's clear from Stein's and others' posts that Tso's tradition and rules said alliance members don't ring vs alliance members. it's as much about the act of ignoring and going against the alliance & how it operates as it is the rule itself.
