I think somewhere near our health bars there should be a bar for the bandwidth being used by our equipment, and possibly an icon for each piece of equipment, with the first one being on the bottom of the bar, and the last one deployed being near the top, so that we can better see what will be deactivated if we deploy something else.
The bar would be the same blue color as our health if nothing is being used, then for bandwidth being used, the bar fills up in green, and if you are holding a piece of equipment in your hand that can be deployed, the bandwidth it takes to deploy will fill up that ammount of the bar in red, if its enough bandwidth that the item deployed first will be deactivated, then the icon for that piece of equipment near the bottom of the bar should be highlighted in red to indicate it will be lost if you deploy this new piece of equipment.
This would also be a handy way of reminding players what they currently have deployed. |

+1. This is needed.
Even though the original designers of dust wanted to minimise hud clutter, that is one thing that needs to be visible.
IDEA: as it may not be needed nonstop, maybe onto neocom/cortex/whatever? when you look at your wrist you'll see bandwidth usage, or on map screen.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Having bandwidth usage meter would mean that equipment users would get a sixth sense. Meaning, if your eq usage suddenly drops, you'll know (depending on circumstances) that a redberry just knocked your link down. If someone sees that as a problem, then the cortex idea has merit.

This is definitely marked up as "feature polish" and on our list.

And yeah you are going to need a lot of polishing. Here is another question. Why is it that CCP can jump on an idea (while kind of ignoring a whole thread) and implement it in an eyeblink and then completely stop looking at it? |
