I am an avid ewar user
It is now hosed to the point that I no longer use it at all. Visual acquisition is the only PRACTICAL means of detecting enemies.
I use all classes of dropsuits and have had a significant REDUCTION TO THE USEFULNESS of TACNET with every class.
The close/med/far range design shrinks the helpful area of scans to such a degree that using TACNET to watch your back when hacking has become obsolete.
Ewar was nearly useless before. Now it is simply a joke.
Anyone who says otherwise, I DON'T CARE. This is a thread for one person to say, "Congrats on making the game even worse."

I say put on precisions mod unless you wan't to be OHKed by scouts. Unless those scouts have a dampener or two... lol I feel as if EWAR is "alright" now, but the the nerf to Range Enhancers was a little too much.
Yes, this is exactly the point. What is the use of TACNET, if it only provides intel within the range in which you are already engaging the enemy.
I'm under fire! I know where the enemy is!!!! There is no point in TACNET data in this range.

Range mods just need a tiny buff.
There is a range at which you are already engaging the enemy and TACNET becomes moot. At that point, TACNET is not useful for tactics. The current range is so extremely limited that TACNET is currently completely useless.
You admit that range mods need a buff.

In the current pub match meta there is a high frequency of people rushing in, running at the enemy. They don't hold a defensive line and gradually move forward. Combine, enemy movement at sprint speed, network communication time and a small TACNET radius, and you end up in a situation where the majority of the time, people are up in your face attacking you before they even show up on TACNET.
This alone, makes low-radius TACNET virtually useless and low-radius TACNET is the ONLY TACNET we have right now.
My adaptation is to abandon TACNET completely in favor of visual detection as stated in OP.
