SSD is wasted of money for PS3
PS3 uses old SATA1 port which cannot saturate the speed of the SSD, the PORT IS SIMPLY TO SLOW FOR SSDs and this is a HARDWARE limitation.
beside that thet OS is not optimized for SSDs, it has no features that can utilize it to the fullest, not to mention that it will tear out the SSD sooner or later.
safe some money and get a hybrid drive, this will give you the best performance achievable on the ps3. best part is that the onboard hardware of the hybrid drive fully takes care of the flash memory thus it will last very long.

10/10, would read you being totally wrong again. how to make yourself look bad? be that guy above a simple check on popular pages would spare you from the from the disgrace. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-ps4-hard-drive-upgrade-guidecheck the table for loading times... except for only ONE game there is no difference. there are even cases where the high density hybrid is faster. problem? Only one game except for the other THREE games that loaded faster.
Even with SATA I, SSDs offer performance improvements over spinning disks, being that most spinning disks can't saturate even SATA I's 150MB/s bandwidth. SSDs make games load faster and improves asset streaming after initial load compared to the built in HDDs.
Illiteracy is a real disease, but together we can fight it.

somehow you managed to make yourself look even more bad
first of all, you obviously do not know how hybrid drives work, how an OS works with drives and what high density does for hard drives. please go ahead, buy your precious SSD for your console but dont come back after a year when the caching of the playstation wore out the SSD bringing it down to regular HDD performance.
second, those are ps4 values. on ps3 it will be even worse for the SSD
and third, enjoy your 1 second faster loading times for twice the price
please, do yourself a favor and leave your "internet wisdom" at home for yourself. |

I have a SSHD, It's awesome. It helps in loading for both Dust and Skyrim.
In the Beta days SSD/SSHDs would spawn you 10-30 seconds before everyone without one. Today I would say its between 3-8 seconds.
Can I haz ur ISK?
Gimme dat box!
