This is a little thought that came to mymind yesterday.
What if we were to bring back the old damage mod stats? But also add more drawbacks?
Now, what if it were to take away some range from your weapon or make it have more kick or more innacurate?
Reason why? Well, you should have a drawback if you want your weapon to hit hard.
It would be cool of it could affect each weapon differently as well.
For example: Assault Rifles: more spread per stacked damage mod Rail Rifles: More kick per stacked Damage mod Combat Rifles: (either kick or spread can't choose which one( Scarmbler Rifles: Faster overheating per level HMGs: Faster overheating per level Forge Guns: (you guys choose)
That of course is an example.
Only reason I thought of this was because of the armor vs shield HP mods we have going on. While yeah Shield suits have the benefit of using all low slots modules (speed, longer sprint, faster hack, dampened or longer ranged scans) they don't really compare (at least to me) with a higher tanked oponent that can deal extreme amount of damage thanks to them stacking damage mods in all their highs.
But before any of this is ever concidered, we firsr have to wait to see if the Myofibs jump height bonus will replace a few of those damage mods first before anything else and also the addition of a few more useful mods for armor tankers to use on their highs.
In my opinion their should be a physical drawback for having your weapon hit hard and I believe that the current stacking penalties do not make it.
What do you guys think? And before I get called a shield tanker, I run Gallente Assault 90% of the time.

That actually would be awesome. A mod that increases its firepower that causes it to behave a bit like an AScR. It does have heat but it is only noticeable on the Officer AR that had 90 shots per clip.
Yeah, it would be a good drawback.
The drawbacks I gave were just examples. Feel free to specualte.

I'd just start using all shield extenders. Even when damage mods we're as good as they used to be, they were barely better than running a shield extender. If they were like this, damage modded viziams would die off, sure, but then the shieldfaggots would just ***** about Ak.0s dual tanking. Which is why I said we should wait for better modules for highs before taking my idea into consiferation.
And which is why I did noy threw out numbers either. Of course nothing too hindering for 1 damage mod or 2 stacked. But noticeable when more than 2 are starting to get stacked.
