Gallente Assault 5 vs. Amarr Assault 5
- TAR's better in CQC due to tighter spread, less hipfire recoil, more damage, much better finishing ability, no chance of overheating.
- Now they both have similar reload intervals: TAR - 24 rounds before reload SCR - 21-24 rounds before overheat (and reload)
SCR can overheat but reloads faster
SCR's maybe better at range due to having more range, charge shot, more visibility down scope.
TAR's not far behind due to more damage, better finishing, and more zoom....but maybe has more ADS kick/spread?
And the TAR misfires occasionally when rapid fired right?
Anyone out there using both a fair amount? |

That's the range advantage the ScR has over the TAC. Stfu. lol much (much) = 6m lmfao Don't forget optimal range, which is the range within which your weapon is doing 100% damage. The only value given to us on google docs is effective (falloff) range, which is the range beyond optimal in which your weapon is doing 99%-30% damage. In this thread...

...a guy claims that the TAR's optimal range is 65m, whereas the SCR's is 75m. A 10m difference in optimal is significant, especially if you're charge shotting distant RR users.
Optimal range is much more important than effective range. In fact effective range alone is a very misleading number. If the SCR's optimal is 75m and its effective is 96m, then it's doing 100% dmg up to 75m and then decreasing in damage by 3.33% per meter up to 96m, at which point it's doing 30% dmg. That's a whole lot different than just having a range of 96m. Thanks CCP for misleading a large part of the community all this time and being too lazy to publish weapons' optimal ranges anywhere ever.
Apparently you can easily determine the optimal range of rifles and sidearms by aiming at an installation and walking backwards until efficiency starts to drop below 100%. Whatever distance you're at from it then is that gun's optimal range.
I respecced out of AR so I can't compare but if someone could do this with TAR and SCR it would be super helpful. |

So the TAR has the advantage in damage profile. +20%/-20% is crap. I've been lobbying for a while to have laser dmg profile changed to +15%/-15%. It just makes good sense, and after the CR dmg profile change it also good symmetry. |
