This is being reposted from General Discussion.
Here's what the HUD needs.
- Racial variants with different color schemes - An indicator when you have a repair tool active on you - Either a warpoint counter, or a graphic showing which type of Orbital Strike you currently have access to. -Blue Chevrons should turn yellow when a friendly is being shot at
Possibly: For squad leaders, a graphic showing which vehicles the squad has deployed.

The only thing I agree with is a repairing indicator, which should be the yellow glowing effect our screens use to have. Everything else in that list is superfluous.
Put your flags up in the sky.

Really? You see no use whatsoever in seeing exactly what type of orbital you can call at a glance, without having to stop and open a menu? I think many would disagree with you here.
Racial HUD's wouldn't necessarily serve a gameplay purpose. But they would add a bit of flavor and uniqueness to the suits which are supposedly built by entirely different races.

I like the idea quite a bit. Provides some immersion and variety and a bit more combat info.
Ultimately I would really like to customize my hud by picking racial themes, types and locations of combat information on the screen.

We also need a terrain inclusive minimap aka radar. The older HUD from long long ago was like this

I was about to create a topic about Upgrading the HUD in order to show the current bandwith. Something like x/y or, harder to program, a sidebar that expends when you run logi, and shows you how much you have left, and what EQ were planted. You should add this to your list ^^ |

A view of "low ammo" on friendlies would be nice, as well as indicators for when vehicle gunners need to reload or run out of ammo.
Racial HUDs seem superfluous. They'd be nice, but IMO a unique HUD for each suit would be better - They do have vastly different faceplates, after all. |
