I have been a fan of CCP since I discovered EVE some 8 years ago. Various life and technology reasons have kept kept me from being a diehard EVE player since that day. Lack of internet, later a lack of PC. I was very excited when i first heard about DUST, and eventually got a PS3 just for this game. Recently, I have been looking forward to getting a new PC and returning to EVE. I was invested in the idea that I even planned to reopen my accounts before I aquired a pc just to get the jump on skilling and letting my friend use my fighter pilot in the meantime to explore that aspect of eve since he was doing his toon as an indy. Not to mention, there is the new Dust war profiteer pack. I want it. But.... DUST is just BROKEN lately. The last 2 weeks have been near infuriating. Login failures, crazy glitches, freezes that can be recreated over and over by all players. And guess what? Its not just DUST. My friend tells me the same login failures have kept him off EVE. Well, there went my faith in CCP. I was actually convincing myself that half this crap was those hackers still messing with psn. My buddy had to burst my bubble on that one. And what is CCP saying about all this? Nothing. They are talking about roadmaps, changes to pc, bringing back old HAVs... But they are absent and silent on this issue. You fix what is broken before you add more crap to brake it further. I spent $70 on dust in the last month. I wont be giving another dime to CCP untill they get their crap together. No War Profiteer pack. No reactivation of my 2 Eve accounts. Talk to us CCP. Take care of your players and they will take care of you. Right now, I feel like you are disrespecting your players, and im not alone in that.

When you sign onto games that are being actively developed on with multiple free patches and DLC's...
There are gonna be glitches and hang ups.
Period.
Doesn't matter how many people you have on staff or what money you have thrown at the project.
You name it, from.... Blizzard to SOE to Zenimax to CCP... There are gonna be glitchs, There are gonna be log on problems... Freezes..
Unbalanced things from changes...
Look at Drive Club's issues.
This is part of gaming in an active development environment... Always has been.
If you have issue with anything it is CCP's development schedule.. The work on giant patches before Winter holdiay season and before the summer holiday season then take off for vacation while a skeleton crew works out the bugs and keeps the lights on.
This has been the problem since second year of EVE development... Specially during the summer in Iceland, CCP Will drop a huge patch and then have 20% of their employee's working... because summer in Iceland... Like no one works.
Much the same happens for DUST during Winter holidays... They will drop a big patch... then half if not more of the development staff goes on vacation and leaves a skeleton crew to work out the bugs and keep the lights on.
CCP's issues for the last 6 years stems from Upper management running the corporation as a whole. |

Noone is frustrated with ccp because off the issues we've all been experiencing, we're all frustrated they're not talking about it. Let the community know what's going on and possibly some kind of time frame to fix it.

Im fully aware of this. My problem is CCP'S silence on the issues. All the other companies you mentioned post updates to their players about issues. CCP has only ignored its players. Ive been reading the posts, and still see no responses from them. That is the issue. I can deal with stupid flaws, I cant give my money to a company that refuses to acknowledge its players pleas for answers. Until now, I have always stood behind CCP and encouraged others to. No more blind loyalty. In the face of the competition CCP has on the horizon, they should be talking to us instead if giving us the silent treatment.

Yet they can take the time to lock this thread eventually because it's "redundant" , well, guess what, I will be locking my wallet from ccp because the disconnects are "redundant" What I'm really trying to say is, if you have the time to lock threads then you have the time to take a moment and let us know what's going on

People have been saying this on the forums for years. Yet here we all are, still playing, still making threads, giving feedback, hating, loving and so on and so on.
The communication in some aspects is better than it has been for a long while. Still doesn't mean CCP will listen.

If they lock it, it is because they dont want negative cimments about their company or game all over the face of their forum. I get that, hell it wouldnt even upset me. It's an understandable move. I do NOT, however, understand the silence. It is not a sound tactic for dealing with the playerbase. My loyalty to the company and their games is being tested. Its been 2 weeks. It is unreasonable to go this long without so much as "we are aware of the ussues, and are working to resolve them" One week CCP. After that, I file you away with DICE and Blizzard: you will cease to exist in my world.

Your just not looking.
They have tons of posts, tweets and updates about server problems.
They even had a recent faulty hardware problem with Tranquility they just fixed.
Tranquility isn't just some simplistic Server... It's an amazing group of Hardware... Even SSD technology first use outside of it being Strict military technology.. Was first Used on tranquility.
This level of technology is unseen in the gaming world... Unseen in the public sector in general...
Check it out...

Betthy, I know. CCP's cutting edge tech is part of what kept me coming back for more, as well as why I have said for years that they are perhaps the best around. The things they have done for the gaming community, and even for their iwn country, were qualities that I have always admired about CCP. During my days as an EVE player, CCP was always on top of keeping us informed, good or bad. And I never had to go any further than the official website/forums to see that. I dont use Twitter. I should not have to go to an outside source to find this information. A company's official website/forums is the traditional place to go. Many of the people I play DUST with dont use twitter, some dont even use Facebook. Social media should be a company's seconday form of announcments. How many besides myself have posted in these forums looking for answers? If you can tweet, but ignore the posts in your own official forums, on your own official website, then you are neglecting your primary customer base. So yes, in a way you are absolutely correct, im not looking. I expect to find this informatiin where it should be, not on third party websites.
You mistake me for someone who wants to have no faith in CCP. This is absolutely not the case In a way, you could say that I am heartbroken to even be feeling the way I am currently feeling about CCP. To me, a 35 year old gamer who have been playing games since I had my Tandy 1000 sx PC at the age of 5, CCP have become my heroes. But those heroes have let me down. Im here expressing that. If I didnt care about CCP, I would never have wasted my time with this thread. I would have just deleted DUST a week ago, and never looked back. I also once loved DICE, but Ill never buy another of their games again. That was not a descision i came to lightly. I dint desire to be pressed to it here, because CCP is the last game company I have any loyalty or respect for.

And that article is 1.5 years old, I wonder what new technology they have already implemented and what's planned for the future. Tranquility is an astonishing feat of engineering.
Anything that complex is going to break eventually, we're just going through one of them right now coupled with DDoS attacks and the kids being out of school for Christmas.

Arcadiia,
There's this thread that's been on the front page for at least 24 hours. It should probably be stickied, but that's the post that's become the official one. There's some blue tags in there.
The tweets, etc are being done by individual employees and isn't usually from CCP.
I don't use twitter and hardly follow facebook, but the information is available on the forums.
Also, the people locking threads are ISD and GMs not DEVs, they don't know much more than you or I when it comes to what the problems are.
From your posts in this thread, you and I have been playing EVE and Dust for probably the same amount of time (I started Dec 05). With that much experience with CCP, their reaction and "flow of information" shouldn't be this surprising. They might not have an answer yet, so coming to the forums is pointless. |

There was also an apology recently on the EVE forums. CCP aren't the best at communicating, and the above thread re: DUST should've been stickied at least, but ATEOTD **** happens and we usually hear something at some point.
DUST is free, EVE is not. I expect the communication effort to match that.

I agree w/the author on this one, Communication was all that was needed during all of the issues CCP was having. Im no longer willing to buy aurum or anything else from the marketplace ever again. I feel CCP/Dust is to unstable to invest in w/any real money and that sucks cause I absolutely love Dust and the community(you guys can be down right halarious). |

I still stand by my communication complaint. It took way to long for them to start posting. That said, I am a day late, as these posts were made yesterday (easily missed as all were replies in a thread). Still, an apology on my part is warranted, especially since CCP has publicly made one. Im glad to know you guys are on it, but..... Its freaking Christmas now ( in some time zones, tomorrow for me) Things seem stable. go home to your families and work in it after. Merry Christmas!
