I get that, hell it wouldnt even upset me. It's an understandable move. I do NOT, however, understand the silence. It is not a sound tactic for dealing with the playerbase. My loyalty to the company and their games is being tested. Its been 2 weeks. It is unreasonable to go this long without so much as "we are aware of the ussues, and are working to resolve them" One week CCP. After that, I file you away with DICE and Blizzard: you will cease to exist in my world. Your just not looking. They have tons of posts, tweets and updates about server problems. They even had a recent faulty hardware problem with Tranquility they just fixed. Tranquility isn't just some simplistic Server... It's an amazing group of Hardware... Even SSD technology first use outside of it being Strict military technology.. Was first Used on tranquility. This level of technology is unseen in the gaming world... Unseen in the public sector in general... Check it out... http://www.pcgamer.com/eve-online-1/
And that article is 1.5 years old, I wonder what new technology they have already implemented and what's planned for the future. Tranquility is an astonishing feat of engineering.
Anything that complex is going to break eventually, we're just going through one of them right now coupled with DDoS attacks and the kids being out of school for Christmas.

The things they have done for the gaming community, and even for their iwn country, were qualities that I have always admired about CCP. During my days as an EVE player, CCP was always on top of keeping us informed, good or bad. And I never had to go any further than the official website/forums to see that. I dont use Twitter. I should not have to go to an outside source to find this information. A company's official website/forums is the traditional place to go. Many of the people I play DUST with dont use twitter, some dont even use Facebook. Social media should be a company's seconday form of announcments. How many besides myself have posted in these forums looking for answers? If you can tweet, but ignore the posts in your own official forums, on your own official website, then you are neglecting your primary customer base. So yes, in a way you are absolutely correct, im not looking. I expect to find this informatiin where it should be, not on third party websites.
You mistake me for someone who wants to have no faith in CCP. This is absolutely not the case In a way, you could say that I am heartbroken to even be feeling the way I am currently feeling about CCP. To me, a 35 year old gamer who have been playing games since I had my Tandy 1000 sx PC at the age of 5, CCP have become my heroes. But those heroes have let me down. Im here expressing that. If I didnt care about CCP, I would never have wasted my time with this thread. I would have just deleted DUST a week ago, and never looked back. I also once loved DICE, but Ill never buy another of their games again. That was not a descision i came to lightly. I dint desire to be pressed to it here, because CCP is the last game company I have any loyalty or respect for.
Arcadiia,
There's this thread that's been on the front page for at least 24 hours. It should probably be stickied, but that's the post that's become the official one. There's some blue tags in there.
The tweets, etc are being done by individual employees and isn't usually from CCP.
I don't use twitter and hardly follow facebook, but the information is available on the forums.
Also, the people locking threads are ISD and GMs not DEVs, they don't know much more than you or I when it comes to what the problems are.
From your posts in this thread, you and I have been playing EVE and Dust for probably the same amount of time (I started Dec 05). With that much experience with CCP, their reaction and "flow of information" shouldn't be this surprising. They might not have an answer yet, so coming to the forums is pointless. |
