I took my Ex-Enemy/new-Friend's advice And Specced FIRST into
Cal Assault before CalMando. Thanks
Leadfoot10, you were right.
Contrary to the posts of my bro
DeadlyAztec11, im here to GLORIFY what i consider one of the
best suits in the game:The Ck.0 Assault. Now the thing is, most people forget this suit is not designed for Close Quarters Supremacy but instead for long ranged control.
I must admit, after a good night of receiving Hate mail EVERY SINGLE GAME, i just noticed the
Caldari Fighting style really annoys the ***t out of people, and i like this.
You might think: Freakn Checkmate , Camping up there all the time... Well, let me tell you a secret:
CCP INTENDED FOR CALDARIS TO FIGHT LIKE COWARDS.
And believe it or not, its a freakn fun way to play.
Start Game, Get DS, Choose a Beautiful high position, easy to secure and with some type of COVER (never roofs without cover or you will be Sniped/Forge Sniped after a while, BELIEVE ME), drop links and off go to fight !
My first suit is pretty weak. Is a Templar Assault with 1 shield ext, 1 dampener and 2 cx reactive plates...But the idea of this suit is to drop links, and DIE.
After this, i respawn at my links... and the fun begins.
Ck.0 The King (Black-Glint Version)3x Shield Extenders
1x Cx Shield Energizer
1x Cx Shield RechargerLows:
1 cx Reactive Plates
2 Cx Shield RegulatorsKaalakiota + Specialist Flaylock + K-2 Nanohive.
TOTAL EHP: Around
800Shield delay 2
Depleted 3Black Glint
What really makes this suit+fit unique is its capacity to turn the environment into an ally. The Enemy Will feel He is being betrayed by his surrounding. What im i talking about?
Well, COVER.DUH AZTEC, DUH. (jk)
You see, with this suit Cover is your best friend, and by all means the only thing you need by your side at all times. The game looks 100% different when all you are looking for is Cover
. ''I want to get close to 'A' ? Which route provides me the MOST Cover, or its closest to cover?'' - Instead of the traditional:
Ok, i have 5.5+ speed. I'll just run straight forward out in the open''You see there are 2 things you should always search as a Caldari Assault/Commando, and this are:
-Height Advantage
-Cover
Height Advantage Gives you
better line of sight (Aids your weapon)
Cover Gives you (sounds stupid i know) Unlimited EHP. (Aids your Suit)
The Caldari ASsault is not a ''HIT AND RUN'' suit. Thats the Minmatar suit. The Caldari Suit is the 'Hit and Cover'.
You Search for an enemy, Gun him/her down, crouch behind cover,3- 5 seconds after you are at FULL EHP. Rinse and repeat.
The Shield regenerates so
FAST, That I had several times a SNIPER on me and he would shoot at me, i would take cover, get out like in 3-4 seconds full HP, And just, ignore him....
Also, Ive been in fire fights that I get shot out of Shields, Take cover , Regen, Keep Fighting and this repeats about 10-15 times. You know hoy Much Damage those enemies did to me? (I REGEN TANKED)
Over 5000... in a single Fire fight. And i stood tall again 4 - 5 Proto Enemies Shooting at me and trying to get to me.
If i only had one of them Officer Ck.0...
Remember-
THE CAL WAY:Cal Assaults and Commandos Are made to be on high positions shooting down on miserable frogs, While the Scouts Roam around in the Cities, an Sentinels And Logis Camp Objectives.
The Cal assault works AT THE SAME RANGE the Rail Rifle Works.
Ah. also, stay specially Close to Cover while facing AK.0's ,but dont worry, you can survive decently easy since the RR is somehow more precise at longer ranges than SCR rifles and a RR at level 5 prof hits 125% against armor, so ouch.
Just make sure you are behind cover and they are not....
OVerall:Stay @ Your RR's Optimal Damage And be Immortal
Choose an assault suit that fits your playstyle:
Amarr: High Damage and High Armor But LESS Speed //
Good for all situations but the lack of speed might be a drawback for some play styles.Minmatar: Speed but (a Little) Less EHP value // Good for Strafers and for Flanking
Gallente: High Armor Decent DPS // Good All around suit that doesnt lack speed.
Caldari: High REGEN. // Good for long ranged engagements where one can easily take cover for a few seconds when needed. Decent Speed.
