It's possible but shouldn't happen, Legion should only go on the platform that Dust should've been on from the start (PC). I was wondering about this long ago and made a thread about it. Check my sig

It's a shame, I had really hoped DUST could come to the PS$ as the F2P market on PS4 is pretty lackluster so far. Warframe won't goddamn install on my system, Blacklight: Retribution is too generic, DCUO has no depth, Loadout is fun, but the novelty wears off quick. I just want a damn shooter or multiplayer game in general with depth and a detailed ******* clan system with rewards for competitive play. Everything else is inadequate.
It's understandable as to how you feel, all that has happened could've been avoided if they had gone with putting Dust514 on the PC in the first place and being very successful then eventually getting a ps4 version out sometime now maybe. Or if they went with PC only and stuck with PC so they wouldn't be held behind at all.

Dust514 being designed for console players who want that "quick battle" experience with basic key features- PVE, player trading, planetary conquest...
Meanwhile Legion would be the pie in the sky stuff- being able to play the market, massive battles, planet interaction, exploration, emergent gameplay, sabotage/murder while in walking in stations mode, docking a drop ship on a player piloted MCC in space, owning assets in space...
They could, I guess, co-exist and different clients that let players access the same world, but you can only accomplish so much in the console version.
Then again... CCP has been pretty silent on Legion, so for all we know, they could already consider Dust 514 the new Legion since development on Dust514 has really picked up lately, but... Nobody knows... Just speculation and honestly, it seems unlikely because it'd be ridiculously and unnecessarily complicated...
I'd be fine if both existed but didn't affect each other though, Dust being that lobby shooter on the ps4 but hugely improved since the ps4 is able to do much much more. Pub battles with many more modes than we've been stuck with for way too long and private battles for teams and for a few that want to train people or test things out.
Meanwhile Legion being everything that Dust was suppose to be where we can have an impact on New Eden on the ground and in space. Huge battles like this : http://youtu.be/Gw0gOjOWDuI on the ground. And in space : http://youtu.be/yFTUazuGdTw. For Faction Warfare and wars between player corps.
