I'm going to have to agree with some of the sentiment about the Trello board... it isn't that good.
It cuts down the amount of community participation by a rediculous amount, which is one of the problems we had with IRC, but worse, because it requires someone to be whitelisted to participate. I mean sure, there are no requirements to be on the board, but it just creates this barrier in the way, and is really just an unnecessary inconvenience. There are what, like 70 people on the Community Crowdsourcing board? That's a problem. Compared to the hundred of people we see every day on the forums... Even the Locker Room sees more action than Trello.
Features and Discussions is just a much better place to do this type of stuff currently, and it isn't even optimized. It would probably be best to cut Features and Discussions into 2 subforums. Possibly 3... If we want to cut trello out completely, which I think would be great, but the Roadmap Trello isn't that bad, simply because of the color coding. There are pros and cons to both, really...
1.) Featured Feedback. Basically the official QQ place :). Where we can provide feedback on stuff that has already been added to the game.
2.) Community Crowdsourcing. Where players could just voice any possible ideas or features that they think would be cool for the game. A place for us daydreamers.
3?) Official Roadmap. CCP only posts. Basically what we have with the trello board, but in a more accessible and known location so that more people can get learn't about what CCP want to do. I'm actually pretty much positive that they could figure out some color coding...
Someone's gotta tell the stupids that their ideas are bad, and I guess it's my job...

Well, if the Trello was used properly, each card would link back to a forum discussion about said topic. The purpose of the Trello is for organization, but the discussion is supposed to happen on the forums. So if used properly, it's actually quite a good idea. Unfortunately it's not being used as it should be.

I get that that is what it is for, but it still creates this rift between the whitelisted and unwhitelisted people, and most forum goers don't even know about Trello. Not to mention that almost nobody is currently using trello that way. Right now, it just seems to be a place for the few people on there to throw out insanely rough ideas. There are some people using it correctly, but really, that just ends up taking more time than it would if we just used the forums. Don't get me wrong, Trello could become this awesome place, with some TLC from mods. But we could do the same thing here on the forums, without nearly as much work from mods, and have much better community participation overall.

The problem with your argument about Trello having so few players representing the player base is that the Dust forums have the exact same problem only in a slightly large scale. There are likely to be about a couple hundred players participaring in the forums at any given time compared to the thousands who actually play the game during that same moment in time. The Dust forums are just not a very good way to represent the player base either.
Trello is meant more for condensing everything that we asked for already into one small board. Like a TL;DR of sorts.
On Twitter: @HilmarVeigar #greenlightlegion #dust514 players are waiting.
