It's not the scouts, it's shields vs projectiles- if you are using an HMG, a cal scout can literally warp through the bullets and take no damage. When you pull out the ScP, they die like flies on a swatter.

Being a Minja(most times) I noticed it more than i would care to admit, especially when my 330 shield minja can gank a calscout with a shotgun(who only has 2xx shield) and blap him TWICE before he moves, and he only lost 12 shields, yet he can instantly kill me with his ACR/BAR/BuAR/SG/Scrp.
Also having an adv cal basic, I noticed instantly that, even with lower strafe speeds and lower HP, I could regularly post higher scores than my minja, and that was with bumrushing every enemy i found and circlestrafing like i do in my minja.

1, I have that problem with Amarr Scouts.
2, My problem, I die instantly to everything. I use Caldari Scout C-1. (Recently pulled a 1.13 KDR with only knives. It was mainly the same dumb amarr heavy)

Out of all of them, the cal scout is nigh invincible. The only people who end up killing me are scrambler users and breach at users. Everything else does nothing.
Every other scout suit dies instantly to everything.

^ this. It's the same with hav's swarms are anti armour not anti shield so I never understand the but hurt when folks moan about anti armour weponry being less effective on shields .

I like everything about caldari tech, but i have to admit that Caldari scout doesn't have anything special to offer.
It's really a dampened lite assault.
While with Minja, you can do all kind of cool stuff. And it's more usable for team [great hacks, OHK everything].
Ps. If we're talking about scout vs scout, it really comes to who will start shooting first [when you're sure he won't have a chance to run away].
Cuz it doesn't matter if Cal will stack 450shields, when someone will take down 1\2 - 2\3 of your shields, before you will turn around.

Problem is hit detection, it's screwed. I have fired on reds on target to no effect & watched shots land well behind target only to watch them die. Almost feels like you just have to shot in someones general direction & hope for the best.
Kinda surprised we still see so many cal scouts running around. It really has become a **** fit. I can easily say that, it's primarily what i run. Keep thinking there is some way to run it effectively, but ultimately the ewar changes have scrapped it.
Have you considered a career in costumed aggression?

It isn't broken hit detection just a combination of factors that make it appear that way,most times it's projectile weapons with high rates of fire with lessening accuracy at hipfire as the trigger is held and as time goes on you hit the scout less and miss, on top of that they take 15% less damage from your bullets,small hitbox and are fast...
Tip: use a better weapon that has more precision. |
