Education is beginning to be more lengthy, more thorough and people are starting to be expected to go on to college with several AP classes in their belts. Education may not be wisdom, but I hope that maybe through better understanding we can help thin out extreme and illogical thought. Maybe we can turn things around. The biggest issue is people who are already old and refuse to change. I'm not going for a utopian hippy vision. I'm going for a vision where people are intelligent, wisdom is more spread out, people are not easily fooled and hysteria has been killed off because of how much of a threat it is to society. Yes, it will take time, but I hope that by the time my generation is old enough to be in a positions to change things there will be enough wise people to speed up education. We need good morals too. Knowledge is useless if you are not adept in how to use it. Morals are important and they can be taught to a certain point, but unlike most subjects it cannot be forced into people. Morals are willingly accepted. One day we will figure things out or die trying. I agree, but going to toss one thing inGÇª Age is not the reason people refuse to change, it has more to do with how people think. Age is not as much of a factor to this as western societies would have us believe (this is part of my field of education and employment) Education is important in expanding in multilateral thinking and avoiding the pitfalls of concrete/black and white thinking. So yes that will help immensely. Free education is one thing i advocate for a lot. Many people my age (37 ) are populating the post secondary education scene these days. But financially it should be accessible to all people. Advocating equality is also important because of the hierarchal nature of capitalist societies (I know it is not unique to them, but is highly prevalent, and coupled with the heightened individualist nature of those societies it leans towards the "Me" mentality)GÇª inequality inhibits positive development in the world. That would buy is a crap ton of time. They could probably make them huge and attach them to factories. The only thing similar right now is algae tanks, but I doubt we will go with such a costly and high maintenance idea. Just read an interesting article about pollutant capture (sorry it was in a journal not online so no link) Company in California is capturing methane from dairy cow waste slews and using it to make plastics. Their process eliminate oil from the plastic making process. Far cleaner than previous methods and capture of other pollutants to boot. though they are still making a plastic that does not break down in any reasonable amount of time it is still progress. Some other pollutant capture techniques do exist but not always with positive effects. Carbon capture techniques are sometimes used in LNG drilling but the effects of trapping that carbon long term are not known. They trap it underground and create carbon pockets. I don't really understand it, my spouse has a better understanding of it, she has done a fair bit of research on sustainable development practices. MOAR Ladders
