Hi o/ i prolly don't know what the **** im talking about as im a raging dumbass that can never formulate a solid statement on anything but im at least gonna try...
but i would like to tell you all about Uplink Economics so you can make many WPs!
For this one we shall use the Ambush game time
Lets begin
Location, Location, Location Location is always a big deal when it comes to placing uplinks..you don't want one to far from the front line in a ambush as it would drive customers away from your uplink..leaving you with little WP
Always consider going the distance and get as close as possible in the enemies's face, this would welcome customers to use your uplink as it will be right in the heat of the action.
Looping around behind the enemy is also a good way to bring in customers, everyone loves to flank and if the other team is hold up on higher ground than that is the perfect time to find a way behind them to drop a upilink
But i take it you are saying "So i just slap it down? not worry about the lifes of my teammates as its just more business?"
Wrong, which brings me to my next point
Safety first In order to keep bringing in customers you gotta make their experience a joyful and not at all painful one.
So always consider a good spot for your uplink, out of the sight of the enemy but still close to them.
When they spawn and find out that their spawn was pretty safe and the enemy has no idea that they are there, People tend to go back to it if they die as it would be better than smart spawn
This is a challenging part, but if you pull it off, you will get all the WPs
Competition This is possibly the most eh part of my guide of sorts..as in this you will be playing against your team.... Competition with other uplink owners is a game in its own way...if a uplink is closer to the front line than yours then people will tend to go to your teammate's uplink rather than yours...thus you will see a lack of WPs
You want the WPs mate...So you gotta man the **** up and promote your uplink more...get one closer to the action, or loop around and plant one deep in enemy lines to show that your uplink is superior to your opponent
Also never use your own uplink (if you are going for WP) always use your team mates uplinks...that way they have fewer charges..meaning it will lose a potential customer...sure you did contribute to his fortune of WPs but you only care about what customers you can rack in so you can get back to earning WPs.
Death is your business is the enemy team filled with proto bears and high sp players while yours is newbies in militia gear? it is? Good
Your team is gonna get curb stomped, and thats good..more death means more respawns, more respawns means more business for your uplink if its placed well
However in this kind of situation consider getting the uplink in a more tactical position like higher ground, get on a tower or the pipes..this would give your team a fighting chance...but given you supply them with a fighting chance then they would have to use your uplink..which gives you glorious WP
What if they have the higher ground? Then all you can do is find a safe spot form them...lets say on the table top map that the enemy team has control of the table top..what do?
In this case placing a uplink behind the hill leading to a or B would suffice in giving your team good cover against them at the same also getting them close to the action
That is my guide for now...like i said i prolly don't know what the hell im talking about so welp

Mention how your teammates will spawn facing the direction you were when you placed the link.

Thought this post would be about bandwith, but this is nice too.
I try to play cost-efficient nowadays, because I want FW action. Here is my game:
1st life: Kincat Scout, Stable Uplink (4Mbit on the field), hack objective if possible ... dead (maybe 1 kill on the way if lucky) 2nd life: Assault, Std Uplink (8Mbit on the field), engage enemy ... dead (maybe 1-2 kills if lucky) 3rd life: Logi, 2x R9 Uplinks (16Mbit on the field), scan and shoot around wildly ... dead (maybe 1 kill if lucky) 4th - 15th life: **** IT IM GOING HEAVY, YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR (all uplinks vanish) ... kill-dead, kill-dead, kill-dead
10 minutes later: 1 more lost match, Kdr 0.75, no ISK gained
The answer to your complaint is PvE. Always.
