All of these critiques were directed at the absurd excuses I responded to. Taking things out of context is rather pointless. But for you and ghost who appear to be challenged in the skill of reading comprehension, i'll break this one down for you. The mathematical balance was addressed towards the notion that it would be hard to implement other weapons that they still haven't implemented variant wise. You two just keep falling back to arguments that have nothing to do with the current defense I was addressing. Use circular logic as hard you two want, but it won't make you sound more intelligent.
The conversation is literally in this quote chain, so I don't know how you two failed so hard to follow.
Edit: Yeah that's right I can start name calling too, excusing the opinions of others, and accusing you two of being trolls/retards/(insert insult to inflate ego.) Aren't I just the one with the most important opinion now huh?
no i understood completly
your put off because this seemingly useless item was placed into the game instead of a useful one, around christmas time wich haunts you as you have visions of horable balance occuring just before the holidays.
this useless item took ZERO development time
requires ZERO balance... it does nothing but amuse us crazies
and nothing would of been made in the time it took to do it
you would also like them to abide by some magical formula they can just plug numbers into and then BAM balanced weapon.
ive made games (albiet a different genre and medium) and i can tell you from a massive 10 year labor of trying to get such a system to work, scraping it, rebuilding it 20 odd times that its not possable to do without making everything a carbon copy of iteself with the only difference being paint job.
you simply cannot do what you think sould be done.
what you end up with is SW:TOR where everything in both factions is a direct mirror of the oposite faction with the only differences being the animation and name
so in order for your idea of matyhmatical balance to actually function there would be 2 copys of everything
one for shield, one for armor
one shield based suit layout one armor based suit layout and the painnt changes to add flavor
one shield based weapon for ever armor based weapon, the only difference between them being paint and mirrored damage profiles.
thats the only way it works, ive tryed everything else, my dev team tryed everything else, our 50+playtest group tryed everything else... nadda.
stop complaining about weapon balance in a thread about a weapon that does nothing (and isnt supposed to, its a ******* snowball launcher)
