Just letting everyone know. Its so much better now.
Only on my Amassault does the ScR hold up to the Tac. But even there its better to use the TAC to save PG for better modules.

I knew it was going to be the result, and warned against it. But no one [read:Rattati] didn't listen to me. Just like I knew the BrAR was going to be with the buff...
But yeah, whatever. I'll just abuse the **** out of the new OP TAC until its fixed. Just like I did with the Breach.

I am calling FotM. I'll just let time prove me right.

An ScR without overheat is just asking to become FotM. Its happened before, and its happening again. With the same weapon. Or were you not here during the reign of the TacAR in 1.0-1.1? They were the only rifle anyone used.
The current TacAR has almost the exact same stats as the ones in 1.0-1.1, and that's pretty damning.

You know, I really don't give a single **** about the magazine reduction on the ScR. It has ZERO effect on how powerful the weapon is, and doesn't change the way I use the weapon in any way at all. I always reload before I run a mag dry. Always. I'm more upset about the tiny reduction in carried ammo(225 to 210) than the magazine reduction. And I don't really even care about that much at all, its just such a miniscule thing. So I might have to lay down a Nanohive a few seconds earlier? Not a big deal.
The issue I have here, is that even if they bumped the Magazine size back up to 45 on the ScR, I'd still use the TacAR.
Because it can put out more damage before you need to pause shooting. A lot more damage, 421.5 more damage to be exact, which is more of an increase than Amassault 5 provides for the ScR. This drastically increases its ability to kill, to the point that the TacAR is better than the ScR on every suit, even the Amassault.
The fact that "pause shooting" means reloading instead of overheating for the TacAR is just more reason to use one. Spending 3 seconds reloading, is so much better than spending 5 seconds waving your gun around after it blow up in your face.

Its going to be nice padding my KRD for a few days before it catches on... I use all AR variants, still gonna keep using the breach even with a smaller clip, used the tac when it was 18 shot clip, used the burst sometimes just to keep reminding myself that it sucked. Now I get to use all 4 and think they're all pretty good. You know the SCR has its charge up shot, and a longer range, dont be such a baby like the tac is gonna be the FoTM overpowered 'the sky is falling' kind of over reaction that you're championing. And you know what else, nobody should be stupid enough to keep firing scrambler until it over heats, and if you did, I hope you killed the person you were shooting at because you're gonna need a break from being shot at. The TAC AR also lost a lot more ammo for its max ammo than the SCR did. Tac AR needed a bigger clip size, maybe it didnt need 24, I felt it needed 26, some people think 22 might be good. I don't chase FoTM, I use the AR, the PLC, the Ion pistol, as my main 3 weapons, stop acting like everyone who defends a change is a FoTM chaser you snot nosed brat! he is one of the best scrambler rifle users in this game and you act like he doesn't know what he is talking about in turn making yourself look dumber than a bag of hammers. O.o I'm not one of the best. I'm good with them, but not one of the best. There are others that would absolutely wreck me with a ScR. ScRs aren't even my favorite weapons in this game, just my favorite Rifle (although that title is being contested more and more by CRs every day). The only weapon I consider myself to be "one of the best" with anymore is the Plasma Cannon.
But that's not to say that I don't know the ScR in and put like the back of my hand. I've been using them for over a year and a half now as my workhorse weapon.

[quote=Boot Booter]ScR has: GÇómore range GÇóstill a higher clip GÇófaster reload GÇóand a charge shot .
1.) It trades a bit of raw damage for the higher range. Completely logical tradeoff... 2.) Completely f*cking worthless when it overheats at 18-19 shots anyway. The ScR could have a 100rd mag and I wouldn't give a damn, because I would still have to stop firing much earlier than the Tac does. 3.) It reloads a bit faster. I mean, I usually have to swing my gun in the air for 5 seconds before I reload, but whatever. The reload is technically faster... I guess. 4.) I've always seen it as "Hey, the ScR overheats, so let's give it an optional charge shot in exchange." Its a pretty unconventional tradeoff, but I've always seen it as being pretty equivalent.
However, the ScR: 1.) Uses about 2x the PG, and roughly the same CPU. 2.) Has the Laser damage profile. Blaster Profile is better, it just is. 3.) Despite being a meant for a longer range, it has a red dot. Its weird, but the TacAR actually handles better at ranges between 50-60m than the ScR, and I assume its because of the ACOG. And its completely reversed as well, the ScR handles a little better at about the 20-30m range...
I'm not trying to argue that there aren't situations where an ScR would be better... I'm trying to argue that the few benefits of using an ScR instead of a TacAR, just aren't worth all the drawbacks that come with using an ScR. Because they really aren't worth it. Its much better to just slap a TAC in and go easy mode, than it is to use an ScR and have to work your way around all the drawbacks for a marginally better performance.
Someone's gotta tell the stupids that their ideas are bad, and I guess it's my job...
