It's much harder than most will think. Well with a Militia Shotgun and STD Calscout it is. :p
Flank and blap. I like it. Reminds me of the shake and vac advert.

Screw that. The Breach Shotgun is fun. Plus, you earn every kill with it more so than virtually every other weapon in the game. Yeah, it sucks. Which is precisely the reason you ought to START using it. Especially if you are a new player. Trial by ordeal. Then again, not everybody makes intentionally gimped fits for funsies.
@Timtron
Try all the advice, see what works for you.
I think you'll find that the way you end up having to dance around trying to land enough shots means attempting headshots after the first, assuming you catch them unawares and you can guarantee the hit, isn't good advice. But you never know - it may work for you. With the high alpha damage you already have though, headshots aren't as important as they are with other guns.
Also I would try the breach at some point. Because the low clip size will make you a better shotgunner. When you only have two shots to play with, your aim will improve, as will your positioning. Then you can go back to normal shotty and wreck face ;-)

This is simply not true. KBM can strafe circles easy, it is not any easier or harder than analog sticks on a gamepad. Circle strafing is dependent on how you manipulate your aiming controls moreso than your movement. Any lateral or diagonal movement is all you need, the look controls handle the rest and actually create the circle. Anyone with a hand for their mouse or thumb for their sticks can strafe circles around their opponent in as wide or tight a formation as possible. And anyone with with half decent dexterity can do it well regardless of control input choice.
sounds harder to me :)

Wait, how do you even Dust then? Wait, how do you even forum? Telekinesis? I knew it!
Haha.

Can confirm I died twice today to the Breach. In a non-dampened Minja suit to a dampened fellow bastard scout.
It felt good
