We had seen Ancient Exiles, Escrow, and Outer Heaven as the dominant forces of Molden Heath. We wanted to be next. We were tired of being one of the most prominent players in the PC community and having our players have to beg for enough isk to afford protosuits. So when I saw that Outer Heaven was trying to sell off the districts they could no longer defend I snatched them up, bringing us to 25% of Molden Heath, surpassing Nyain San for the most districts held.
Since then it's been a wild ride. I can't say I wouldn't take it again, but having the most districts proved to be far more trouble than it was worth. FA got a lot of arbitrary hate and everyone else that was left coalesced into an alliance against us. Starting in November we began trying to get rid of districts, basically giving them away for free to anyone who would take them. But our enemies took this as a sign of weakness and it soon became apparent that they were never going to leave us alone, no matter how few districts we held. As December neared Devin was increasingly called away to deal with RL issues, along with a burgeoning Eve addiction. For my part, I will be taking a trip at the end of December lasting until late february during which I will not have access to a PS3. It was clear that we would need new leadership and Devin and I had no wish to saddle them with our problems. We didn't want them to have to spend their first weeks leading FA dealing with our mess, especially when it became clear that dropping down below Nyain San would not take everyone's sights off of us. In the beginning of December we decided to drop all of our districts on Christmas day, giving our replacements a blank slate to make their own mark on Molden Heath and give them the freedom to steer FA in the direction they saw fit.
But you all couldn't wait for Christmas and wanted to open your presents early. With 1.10 it became abundantly clear that our Heavy and Scout doctrines were badly prepared to deal with an assault dominant meta. We didn't want to spend our last days on dust fighting a streak of losing battles, so we said **** it and dropped all the districts early. People will say that we lost and that is technically true. But there is no such thing as winning when you're on top, the option you're left with is "not losing." To KEQ you played a good game and were admirable adversaries and we wish your corp and alliance much success, especially with Random Gunz stepping up as a formidable addition to the best corps this game has to offer. To ToP, good job beating us, have fun being wiped off the map by Murphy's. To Red Star I hope you become an actual corp again and eventually field a team that is over 33% Red Star. I believe in you.
As of the 20th FA will be transferred to to the control of Skeletor and Ghost Kaiser. I have no doubt that Fatal will flourish under new and far less burnout leadership. We are not done with PC we will return stronger than before to hopefully take a more manageable chunk of districts.
