So my last post got mixed feelings in people so i decided to create a new idea.
Since armor plating is going to get nerfed sentinels are going to get a big hit. So what i say is that the base armor, shielding and resistances are increased.
Now, i know people are saying "The hmg is op. nerf. The do so much damage, nerf." And i agree, the hmg is op. But my problem with sentinels is that they are easy to kill with smaller suits. If they get the resistances and and armor and shield they need, the hmgs damage can be nerfed with no worries.
A sentinel should be wall between medium and light suits, not the damage dealer of the battlefield. |

To be fair, not all Sentinels will be affected by the changes to armor plates.

Yes all heavys arent affected but most are (minmatar is usually a armor tanker) and i swear i read the plates were given less hp but i might have missed the post saying that they arent.
But i still think less damage, more armor. |

I guarantee you that most Caldari Sentinels do not use armor plates.
But yes, I could see a decrease to HMG damage and an increase to survivability. The issue with this of course is the Forge Gun, since Forge Guns are rarely used against infantry (and if they are its from up high from range where they're not taking damage anyways). There is little reason to nerf them, yet you don't and increase Sentinel defenses, then that can cause further issues, particularly for vehicles. This is why we really need a Heavy Frame that is focused around attacking with heavy weapons...

Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

And i honestly dont get your point with the problem of forge guns. A good tanker can kill a forger easily and a good forger can do the same. |

One of the things i don't really get about heavies is how the sentinel reads like an anti vehicle platform, yet one of the currently available weapons it pretty much useless against vehicles but mows down infantry (HMG) and the other can be used against both (forge).
As well as weapon parity is there any chance of weapon purpose being looked at? Is there meant to be 2 heavy weapons per race - one primarily AV and one AI? whats the deal CCP?
Anyone getting annoyed by reading of the above post should consider the following.
I don't care so neither should you :)

I think just adding an Anti-Shield Heavy weapon would be sufficient in the short term.

Minmatar are shield tankers, people only armor tank them in dust cause armor > shields in dust. In eve minmatar ships usually have bonuses to shield booster boost values, getting about 40% more hp per cycle than any other race - I have literally seen a minmatar ship get 3000 shield hp back with one button press (and be capable of doing it every 2 seconds for seven more pulses before they needed to reload charges).
Note that I'm not saying no minmatar ship is ever armor tanked in eve because there are fringe situations where even caldari armor tank or gallente / amarr shield tank (scorpion, Ishtar, curse/pilgrim/arbitrator) but I am saying that if its minmatar it's incredibly likely to be shield tanked.
