DUST Search - Strongboxes will be the running joke

How long have they been out now, a couple of weeks? And it's already become a joke on the forums. It won't be long before everyone has 1000's of boxes.

I think when DUST has gone the way of the Dodo bird and players reflect back, the strongbox idea will be THE running joke for which the game is remembered, unless some other use for them is introduced.

Stay gold. Honestly I think the current drop rate is just to test how many keys each person is willing to buy. The problem is they also made sure that number is limited by filling them up with special edition frontline suits.

But I didn't use to have officer drops before 1.10 so for now let's say it's just coincidence (and bad luck). I dont think the idea of strongvoxes is so bad, but the way they work right now is terrible. They should: -decrease the boxe's droprate (cant give a number but it has to be 10x less than right now); -increase the key droprate by 10 too. -take out everything that isn't a proto/officer/special item of the boxes. This way we'll still have more boxes than keys, but not a ridiculous ammount of them. We could open boxes more often but not so much as the droprate would be still low for the keys. People who'd want to open more boxes could do it by buying keys and having much better rewards. Assault, Logi, Scout, Heavy.. What do you need?

Officer weapons are still handed down to the poor. =)

I also think reducing box drop rate will make CCP more money, since you probably will be much more inclined to fork out some AUR for the keys if you got like 5-10 per week (max), and they were guarantied to contain something valuable (at minimum close to 800 AUR) Now they give out x5 in a single daily mission, and the other day I could collect 18 in total in doing all daily activities. So I agree, now they are more an annoyance since it just feels like normal salvage locked away unless you pay AUR... Which is NOT the feeling we should be getting Wonderful idea, poor execution. On the up side, this should be faily easy to address in a server patch.

There is only one thing I might give CCP AUR for, and that's a BPO derpship.
