My computer can only handle it because you only render the captain's quarters.
EVE Online is what you get when engineers attempt to create "fun" without consulting someone who comprehends the word.

Lol so what games use the carbon engine? Or have u been testing out that engine yourself?
If it could melt a ps3 and if wat u said is true then what would you guess the hardware requirements be for Dust514 if CCP took the correct path and put dust514 on the PC only?
Should Legion be on the ps4?

Great, now I wan't to see how my PC could handle the Carbon engine. How did you test it out? What's your rig's specs? |

Play eve. Load the CQ.
The carbon engine was insanely resource intensive. It was originally developed for WoD and part was imported to EVE for WIS.
They swapped to UE3 when they decided on PS3 release for DUST.

Oh, captains quarters...
That's running carbon? I don't remember it being that intensive, even on my old PC |

Should be. But it made high end rigs chug along when they put it in.
Kinda like crysis.
Fack it, might as well board the hype-train again. At least there's tracks this time.

With settings on max i burn about 30% when flying around or fighting while reaching almost 70% while standing still in the quarters. It is an incredible resource hog and was probably a similar issue that was causing carbon to melt peoples playstations.

If it is resource intensive and runs poorly on a machine maybe that just means that Carbon is not efficiently coded. Optimise stuff or make it so that it is scalable.
Some of the most powerful graphics engines for recent FPS games are made to be scalable between last gen consoles (PS3/Xbox), PC and next gen PS4/XBone. Playing Destiny on a PS3 is not as pretty as a PS4, but you still get a good looking game that runs efficiently.
Why no CCP/Carbon do dis?

Carbon was built by CCP Atlanta for the game it was working on for 5 years? World Of Darkness. A MMORPG kinda WOW like game.
It was later used in EVE to implement a new avatar system and the station walking mechanics.
If you where around in those times in EVE. You Would know the Carbon Engine wasn't optimized ... It crashed and overheated EVE players computers then...
And required double the computer to run the Station walking feature of EVE... Then to run Hardcore Alliance PVP of hundreds of ships on field fighting.
They Still haven't added to the avatar system in EVE and created social spaces because of the limitations of Carbon. and it's been 5-6 years. or longer?
DUST on Carbon was built by a handful of people as a side project... On Carbon because it was free and used around the office frequently.. Much like how EVE Valkyrie started... It got shown at fanfest... And people went nutts and it went from there.
Carbon was built to run a MMORPG game on today's PC hardware.

All you have to do is get yourself a controller lol, doesn't matter what platform and yes you can even use a controller on a PC.
Should Legion be on the ps4?

Because Carbon is incomplete it seems. I would have loved to see Carbon running properly on a platform that can support it well. But if it really has a problem with hogging resources, then we can't afford to backtrack.
From now on, our heavily modified UE3 engine shall be called... "Dusty Engine". With Love.
Legion shall inherit the Dusty Engine, and it will pop, sputter, putter its way to greatness. The little engine that could, ftw.
Set your goals high, and shoot for the moon; even if you miss you'll land amongst the stars.
