Since playing in this shaman suit I've noticed the bandaid they put on the scouts cloak delay ended up sticking the repair tool up the logi's ass.
There has got to be a better way to fix the problem or if not, at least give the logi a rep tool as a perm sidearm. and lower equip slots or something.
Never played logi much before, never read any logi related threads, but that has got to be bothering the heck out of any logi out there.
There's got to be a better way.
Thought about starting a trello card, but figured i'd let you guys bash the idea around a bit. What do you think? Is it worth the time or too hard of a task to ask? |

I know a better way. Anyone could've thought of that if they just took a minute to think.
Uncloaking should only be possible by pressing the decloak button or running out of cloak time, switching to a weapon while cloaked not possible, must decloak first.
I think pressing the decloak button is just enough of a delay, as it lasts almost as much as the time switching from equipment to weapon right now.
My Paladin will hurt you. Very badly.

Someone has been playing planetside.
I like the idea though
Rise and shine CCP. It's time to implement ping based match making.

OMG! THAT'S what's causing the problem! I thought my controller was going sticky.
Really annoying...and deadly to an already squishy role. Repping away at my teammates, miraculously spot a someone coming up from behind, sound the alarm and swing around and switch to my...switch to my...switch to my...DANG IT! SWITCH!!! ...oh, we're dead now. Must have happened 3x this weekend.
I imagine scouts think it is funny watching me stare them down with my rep tool as they charge in. Not like I had better than a 25% chance of surviving the encounter before, but at least I didn't look like a deer in the headlights while dying.
FPS = First Person Support. Kills win battles but it's kinda hard to kill if you're dead and out of ammo.

Exactly!
I've been imagining from my enemies perspective, that my character looks as if he's fumbling around in his pockets trying to figure out what he did with his gun.
So much for backup. Or even the possibility of finishing enemy off and reviving your team. Cloaks got nerfbat, while logis got knocked the f out with an aluminum one. |

I can't believe no one else has noticed or complained about this. Please like or reply if you have.

OP must be real new to Logistics, equipment cycling glitching is not a new byproduct of the cloak delay fixes it's existed for a looong time. Many threads in the past pointed it out though they went largely unanswered and so Logis have largely just learned to deal with it, making it basically part of the work that comes with the job. Consider it job variety or a mini-game, running around with a hive out you can't drop unless you squat down and stand back up a few times first or cycling away from the repper to your weapon to have the repper freeze in your hands until you sprint a couple times.

OK, so it's been around. I haven't played anything but Logi for 6 months. I SWEAR it has gotten "worse". Now you are making me think it is a worn out controller again.

PS3 controllers are notoriously disposable, a little baby powder can help sometimes when the sticks get rough but otherwise, once the upc on the underside is worn off the controller is basically done/on its way (according to my local GameStop who will not accept a controller worn that far) .
A couple hundeed hours on electronics inrerfaces like these IS a lot, use-designed planned-obsolescence notwithstanding.

Yea I admit I haven't played much logistics, the few times I have though I didn't remember it being so slow to switch.
So, since its been this way for a while, how about now be a good time to look into speeding that swap speed? Give me a chance to defend myself. |

I think this is a great idea and solves everything wrong with de-cloaking in a very simple way

The slow motion hands thing is stupid as ****, I can switch between my weapons in a split second but it takes 5 seconds to lower my arm if I have a RE in my hand. If I want to hack an installation or call an orbital I can press the buttons on my wrist as fast as I want, but if I want to use a cloak my arm becomes extremely heavy and suddenly takes 5 seconds to move and press that same button. When you have REs equipped but you've already used them all, it takes a hilarious amount of time to raise your arm up to your face, and then the same ridiculous amount of time again just to lower your arm. It's ******* stupid and there's no need for it. It doesn't fix RE spam - it just means that after you have thrown and detonated your RE you're often going to get killed because you can't move your hands to switch to a gun. And it doesn't stop people firing before they've even decloaked, it just inconveniences people who use cloaks because they have to deal with slow motion hands.

This has been a problem since the beta. Before I started playing I was told that long ways back early beta equipment was cycled through similar to swapping to a side arm by just tapping the button. I wish CCP would just put that function back in for when you are wearing any suit without a sidearm.

It is too clunky and slow and leads to countless deaths for the most sp/isk costing suits to date.
