Well I'm at 645k total sp but I miss judged the meaning of core skills....drop suit command at 1, suit upgrades at 2, core 2,engineering 2, shield upgrades 3 , shield extenders at 3 and one in armor upgrades. Shield extenders feel pointless at this point with just militia gear and where a lot of points I feel could have been used better |

Yeah, with only 645k start over. No big deal at that early stage. I wouldn't buy a respec for that.

Yea start over, back in beta I got to about the same point as you did and then decided to start fresh. Didn't regret it one bit.
And with the way things are now you can make that 600k back in no time.
That being said though, core skills are very important in the long run.

I second the proposal of making an alt,
Alts will have a different set of missions and you get skill points for logging in ,
If you switch at the end of each of sessions and check any really easy 100,000 ISK missions you will end up with lots of SP for
an alternate build. |

If you want to maximise maximise your alt-y potential, make an entirely new account. That way you can log both characters on (will take slightly longer) and have both running on passive SP. That means that while your new main character will accrue and spend its SP properly, your old character/now alt will gain SP reasonably quickly so that you can rectify your earlier mistakes.

What you invested so far, you can make in a week, so don't even bother restarting. The only reason to restart, would be either if you don't want that name anymore, or if you want to change race. These two things are important, the rest is not!

You didn't make any terrible choices and you are not going to regret going into shields as a minmatar. My minmatar suits rely primarily on shields tanking and speed. Everything you've unlocked you will need so don't bother restarting.
However, its not a bad idea to create an alt to try out different things before unlocking them on your main character.
Getting your dropsuit upgrades skilled up is far more important than better weapons or suits imo. |

With 645k you might as well biomass and start a new char.
I recomment you create 3 characters (one with passive, the main one) and the other 2 you would use them to test stuff
