No BS-core for me. Folk/viking, melodic death and thrash metal are mentioned here.
And there's Death, because Chuck was in a league all his own.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

As Patriot I need to say - Vader Blood Album. Especially track name Angel of Dead. Great cover.
I know it's not metal band but Deftones are panacea for all problems. Listen when mad, angry, relax, chill. They got all.
Will return to metal thing: Why it lost balls after year 2000? Anybody knows?

Chimera Shadows fall Amon amarth. Viking metal eyes set to kill female vocalist Arch enemy. Female vocalist In flames hails from Gothenburg, Sweden and are an amazing band. So happy to see someone mentioned Amon Amarth. Epic viking battle metal If you don't care about the vocals being in English, some other great folk metal band out there off the top of my head are, metsatoll, finsterforst, finntroll, eluviete, and wolfchant to name a few If you're looking for something modern, that's sort of a cross between maiden and viking metal, check out the band Tyr. Idk, other notable mentions, dissection, emperor, burzum, rotting christ(a dead poem is in my top 10 favs of all time) Children of Bodom is always good, but check out their older stuff like follow the reaper or hate crew death roll More mellow death metal bands like agalloch or summoning are definitely worth checking out Don't waste your time with bands like atreyu unless you wear black mascara and like to cut. Anyways I could spend all day naming bands, but this is a great list to check out.

Sepultura is also a very good band.
It is Brazilian tribal metal that is very anti capitalist/government.
It is not sung in English.
