Mechanic: When sprinting, your avatar does not reach full speed unless you change weapons.
Why does this mechanic exist? What is the design justification?
This is especially annoying for logis who do not possess a sidearm and must change to equipment in order to achieve full sprint speed.

Your not really gonna go full sprint unless your carrying a needle either .
I would bring out my needle if I had to run , much faster and better but yeah , I don't get it either .
Half the time I have to sprint I can't do it unless I try to twice and I'm using a brand new DS3 , so there shouldn't be any problems .
I've wondered about this myself .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

Notice that when you start sprinting, your camera zooms in. When you swap weapons, your camera zooms out, giving the impression of a speed boost, when in reality, there is no speed boost at all!

Good times.

What about the head bobbing of Closed beta builds? Oh the disorientation As your avatar's head bobbed back and fourth like it was attending a Snoop Dog concert. |

Thanks Dreis! Can you point me toward the dev post that explains this?
I remember reading a dev post a few weeks ago verifying that sprint speed is affected by changing weapons, although I have not been able to track down that post again yet.

I found out from asking in the Learning Coalition channel, then testing it in-game. o7
