Can't tell if you're serious, are you actually implying that if we focused more on KDR, games would go better? I view KDR as one of the main reasons games do go so unbalanced. Players join and make their decision whether to stand and fight or hide in the redline sniping in the first minute of the match BECAUSE they don't want to ruin the KDR in a match they don't feel OP in.
I think some efforts on reworking the redline, as well as LESS focus on KDR MORE focus on WP would be the way to go in terms of helping balance. |

So check the roster start of match, every match. If you spot a super squad on one side and not on the other, you're very likely in for a stomp. If you're on the losing side, why stick around only to be robbed of Isk? If you're on the winning side, why stick around only to be bored and ashamed? Both eventually lead to burnout and bad gameplay experience.
I'm doing my part; I backout of matches early and often, and I'd encourage you to do the same. If everyone backed out of broken matches, CCP would prioritize fixing the cause of broken matches.
To me, hiding/leaving is the only real shame. I go in solo allll the time into incredibly unbalanced matches. Doesn't matter, do what you can do. use uplinks to herd the blueberries like sheep, get a scout and pick your 1v1's, drive around a heavy do something but giving up is sad.
I always respect the lone redberry trying to put in work even if he stands no chance.

Combine this with the fact that players would make 50 free accounts through PSN and 3 characters per account that's 75 million isk every 10 hour rotation. A lot of players abused this for the years that it existed and as far as I know in CCP's typical YOLO fashion just permitted it much like district locking in PC. I'm sure CCP would claim they couldn't stop it but I highly doubt they couldn't pick out instances where the same IP address logged in to dozens of accounts and deleted characters or transfered isk from all these characters to one. On their end it would be pretty obvious if they cared to look. This game has tons of isk from various players in the same way diablo had ridiculous amounts of gold from duping. It's why I laugh everytime someone implies that such in such change will break the Dust Economy. Dust doesn't have one... it's going to be interesting when player trading happens. I won't be suprised to see people offering 100mil+ isk per officer weapon.
I won't be surprised if the day officer weapons can be traded, they all get scooped up in the first day and get spit back out at 10x the price :P |
