Could you please explain me what is so MASSIVE on this game? Im really curious about the explaination for that on the main page. It says: Quote:DUST 514-« GÇô a massively multiplayer shooter . So what exactly is so MASSIVELY about this game? Its 16 vs 16 matches? Battlefield can do that better and MAG outclassed the max playercount from dust by miles. Its very limited connection to eve online? And if you say the skilltree then i will find you, grab your body and throw it off the cliff on manus peak.
If you dont believe me then check it for yourself: http://dust514.com/

If all the people who play this game simultaneously [and non-] were put into a building rigged with explosives, and that building was blown to smithereens, the media would cite "massive casualties" or similar.
Not that I, a vicious mythical beast, would advocate for such a heinous scenario.
roughly 3000 players online at any given time is by no means MASSIVE amount of playercounts. And if you or Rattati/CCP/Pod smokers think it is then i think i might have to throw you off the cliff on manus peak.

So by that i can aswell claim that COD is a MMO cause thousands of matches are beeing played simultaniously. I dont want a description what a MMO is i want to know whats MASSIVE about dust. The closest thing to what you just sayd would be MAG or battlefield with its large amount of palyers beeing capable to play in a single match not dust with its 32 playercap. And the interactions between players is limited to corperations and ISK transfer. Apart from that we dont even have player trading, a simple and basic feature in every MMORPG. Dust wants to be a FPS and a RPG game at the same time but still lacks the basic features from a RPG.
And no the eve link does not count cause all they can do is drop some OB's at our heads and thats it. This is hardly worth calling "a connection to eve online".

GM Archduke wrote:The game is capable of supporting large numbers of players simultaneously. Technically every single DUST 514 Mercenary and EVE Online Pilot are on the same server. So what? Only cause they are sharing the same server doesnt mean that it has a actual impact on the game itself. And 32 players are rather average game numbers and in my opinion too little when you look at the size of the maps. When i read MASSIVE then i would expect as a newbie playercounts of like 60 players+ like battlefield 4 does. Map size and playercount should be a matching thing.
At the moment the max you can setup in a PC match is 2 full squads and a broken squad containing 4 players (16 players). Now there are maps ranging from 4 to 5 objectives which needs to be taken/guarded. By that you need to splitt your squads up to be remotely able to defend the objectives. In my opinion 1 squad should equal 1 objective but that is at the moment not possible.
In order to overcome this problem you should increase the playercount for PC/FW/Skirmish to 48. Basically 24vs24 that would mean you could bring in 4 full squads and each squad can defend/guard a objective so most maps would be covered properly. And your MASSIVE tag would actually be justified.

GM Archduke wrote:OK, I get it that you are not satisfied with DUST. By definition it's still an MMO, you're thinking 16/32 players can't be considered massive, which is true. But that's not the game, that's a match. Again, the game is capable of supporting large numbers of players simultaneously. Also, you guys are lame Lame? i accepted the challenge and beat you to it. Just give up allready you cant win against me and before Dust turns into a proper MMO pigs will start to fly. Period.
