Day 2 of missions.
I have 43 strongboxes
Zero keys.
Too many horror stories of standard gear to buy 800x43 = 34,400 AUR to open them all. Surely whatever is in these boxes aren't worth several BPOs?
At least give us the option to sell the things. Warehouse rent is too steep.

Final down time tally, 86 boxes.
Hey devs, you guys really need to up the key drop, as well as reduce strong box drop. I'm well on track to get well over 100 boxes by the end of the weekend. There is absolutley nothing in these boxes worth spending 80,000 AUR (100 boxes x 800 AUR) or roughly $40 to open them all.

Too bad if you interpret it that way. One of the main roles of an ADS is to kill uplinks. You spawn in at the same time i'm gunning for one, you'll get killed, but the uplink dies shortly thereafter. Its near impossible to camp an uplink.
CRUs are much more dangerous to attack. I'm either shouting at my squad to hack it or kill it, because 1 minando with swarms or 1 decent forge gunner and my ADS goes poof. No spawn kills are worth 300+ K isk.
But thats as far as will I adress killing people at either uplinks or CRUs.
You might not see the enemy scouts dancing around a CRU you want to spawn in, but you can clearly see any vehicle in the overhead map when you select a spawn point, especially a dropships in at or near the uplink/ in question you're spawning on. Can't exactly cloak a dropship, or plant remotes from a dropship, stand back under cover, or sit still waiting for a red chevron to shoot at.

Im gonna make some wild guesses here.
1. Strongboxes are for selling AUR. (not much guessing on that one) 2. Daily missions are meant to reward people who actually play as oppose to AFK. 3. Daily missions are an excellent way to train new players in the game a little bit.
Assuming these are correct guesses on some of the intended goals would it not be better to drop the "random" salvage aspect and either base it on a ratio or participation (matches / wins /kills / warpoints) or just drop it from the idea of salvage completely and improve that system while giving out more keys in missions and maybe even as a daily login bonus.
FEEDBACK
Aside from the key drops we are discussing here I really enjoy the overall system. Missions give you something to think about in matches aside from the repetitive nature of run, shoot, and hack. They are a nice distraction and I am sure they will help with NPE quite a bit. All these are correct and describe the intent fully. The mainstay was to increase new player retention, and provide goals for intermediate players. Veteran players can acquire rare weapons and gear. We plan to add to this lifetime merits or achievements, hopefully we can implement a lifetime stats with goodies like "heavies killed", vehicles destroyed etc
Well..... not much to say about that then. CCP are still as clueless as ever in regard to either making money from players or retaining players.
Selling a service within the free to play model, sure, such BPOs, boosters and packs dust players had to convince CCP to bring back. No problem there. Its more subtle and it works.
Giving CCP money as requirement for missions? Pay CCP to get random mission rewards? Do they have this in EVE? as in Do an PVE mission and pay CCP to see what you get? Really i shudder to think of the IDIOTIC paywalls being dreamt up for legion. If you consintently remind people to spend money on worthless items, why should they think anything else in the game has any worth?
Right now the first reaction to people spending money on your product is "that was B.S.", "Never gonna buy that again," or "srongboxes are a waste of time." Assoicate that reputation to dust 514 newplayers who already get stomped to hell because lol matchmaking, why should they stick with a free game that stomps them and begs for money at every turn?
