Want somthing that may take practice but can still be well worth the sp investment. Plasma cannon , mass driver or forge weapons? Maybe even rail rifle |

There aren't many weapons that aren't viable now. Plasma cannon and flaylock will always be the joke of DUST, I suppose, but all the other weapons are perfectly usable.
Sometimes, one just has an overwhelming urge to throw a potato at someone.

Weapons are way more balanced than ever before, so it's a tough call.
Variants, however, are a different thing.
Breach Flaylock is possibly THE worst weapon in Dust, imo. |

I just don't know what to do. I want to have fun and be actualy helpful but This game is to stingy with the so so the last thing I want is wasted points.... |

All the rifles are equal these days. I take it you are looking for a specialty weapon though? Anti-Infantry go Mass Driver or Laser Rifle. A/V go Plasma Cannon or Forge. What suit are you wanting to use this weapon on?

Combat Rifles, Rail Rifles, Scrambler Rifles, and the Breach Assault Rifle are all in a good spot right now. The mass driver is a fun weapon, as is the plasma cannon, but they're both better for fun than actual usefulness. Mass driver might have good area denial, but 1v1's with other suits won't usually end well, and the plasma cannon is great for taking out shield tanks but not much else. I'd recommend rail rifles for the early game, then once you start getting enough SP to branch out, go into something you simply use for enjoyment.

I was going to ask that also. I have a minmatar logi but dieing in 2 shots and doing no damage annoys me. But I like being support.. I feel like tanks are to slow for my likeing |

Forge Guns are the greatest Sniper rifles you will find in this game. Don't need a dang scope to blow a Gallente hypocrite to pieces!

I'm guessing you haven't tried out Kubo's then.
Gallente User since Jan. 28th, 2013. Touched on every Gallente role since.

I'm gonna recommend my old friend the Mass Driver to you then. Fantastic support weapon, easy to learn, difficult to master. The MD support Logi was once the King Logi, until AR514 hit. You will always be better of with a rifle 9 times out of 10, but I still love being the Mass Drivin' Support Unit of Yore.

The single shot rifles are remarkably good.
CR is solid.
RR needs some playing to get used too.
MD is nice.
AR is always a good pick.
SMG is a good sidearm, but I personally like the Ion Pistol.
ScP is ok.
Most weapons are workable. I'd personally not run a shotgun, but if you want to run kincats, it's a good CQC pick.

I wouldn't say very good...Id say more like "good enough that if you have sufficient gun game, your opponent may die from the gun instead of laughing."
