You're smarter than that.
Mag didn't have the amoint of data transfer going on or even half the sht going on that dust does. It wasn't even connected to another game where data has to update constantly etc.
Mag was cool because the ps3 cpu isn't that bad for how crap it is so it could handle it but the data transfer that occurs with dust is pretty huge, much more than mag.

Nah, i was in a playstation group of about 30 people and we all crapped our pants with excitement when we saw it in the patch notes and were waiting for the installation.
We then got in game and were let down. If its not in the patch notes now then its been edited. Waiting to load up into a 24v24 match is not something you'd forget about being let down by trust me.

Let's put it this way. If the company comes to feel that a PS4 port would be profitable, it is far more likely to happen. It will appear profitable if people ask for it and actively play the game.

BPOs come out. They sell well. We get 2 client updates and a roadmap for future updates. Correlation doesn't always equate to causation, but in this case I think it's pretty clear.

Lovely use of semantics. Considering increasing the player count per match is not on the roadmap and no Dev has brought it up since basically the start of uprising, I think we can all assume this is not anywhere on CCP's radar for Dust in the near future. But hey, if I'm totally wrong and 24 v 24 pops up in the next patch or two, I'll be happy to see it and I'll pay 20 mil ISK in "Well don't I look like a dummy" money to your wallet. Fair bet?

Well, maybe if there was a mode where only the less resource intensive maps were used. As in, no Research Facility or Production Facility sockets. Then maybe we could have 24 vs 24 in that mode.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

So what if it's not on their roadmap or been brought up?, does that have anything to do with my enquiring about it?.
And it's pretty obvious it's not coming out in the next update or two and easily assume whatever crap we want but that has nothing to do with me enquiring about it at all.

IF Mag did what they DiD... Then yes the PS3 can run the player counts.
Did CCP setup a good foundation in DUST with core mechanics to support such aspirations?
Hell no.
Should CCP have the capability? Hell yes... People talk about data transfer and client updates... But then forget that CCP Runs the biggest Server cluster in all of gaming.. Tranquility is the first public sector where the SSD technology got implemented after it was strict Military technology. Tranquility is awe inspiring at the infrastructure and capabilities...
DUST is...... not.
If we are having game performance issues at this point? I Doubt increasing player counts is possible without making it alot worse.
They would have to completely overhaul how they build and implement maps... And seeing how they never changed this process what so ever for legion? I doubt it is ever in the future. |
