It seems like people want all suits and weapons to perform as well as others at all situations. I can't help but feel that this makes Dust too much like a casual lobby shooter.
Right now people are saying that the AR is too weak. What's a popular solution? Increase range. That's the wrong buff, a weapon meant for CQC should get a buff towards CQC not range.
What about the RR? People tried to lobby to make it less viable at long range and settle for better CQC performance. Why is a long range weapon getting a buff towards CQC?
The Minmatar Assault some people have argued needs a buff to HP. The Minmatar Assault is suppose to be a weak suit. It should get a buff to shield regen not pure HP.
What about scouts? They're now arguably the worst suit for CQC since now they will have the speed of a heavy if they settle for an increase to HP meanwhile Assaults will maintain their speed while strafing.
Now people are trying to nerf Sentinels because apparently engaging an HMG at less than ten meters should be a fair fight...
Guys, if you want to nerf or buff things just remember that everything has a range or situation where they are suppose to dominate. If we ignore this then we will end up with really bland suits and weapons because everything will be just as viable against everything else in situations where they shouldn't be.

Quit using Logic. It is OP on the forums. However the scout nerf I'm not complaining about. If someone wants to run scout, they don't deserve 700 HP or higher.

I agree, now that you've pointed it out. As it stands, I fit my Min Assault for shield regen + 1 or 2 biotics in the low slots along with at least 2 Shield regulators. To be honest I wish I could use a Low slot for a module that gave me more speed in exchange for an armor penalty.

This would make sense if the change affected brick tanking and not Ewar.
So realy the only ones who got punished were those who run Biotics and Ewar.

I generally agree with the OP on this, however, there are some areas that you can have a "best in class" but saying it should dominate is going too far and ultimately causes serious friction.
Rifles are a good example of this. They aren't something you can easily "imbalance" for unique play without serious ramifications and taking into account map design, SP investment, and passive bonuses. For this category specifically (racial rifles) I actually do think you need to bring the rifles into a closer band of DPS, range, and firing mechanics BUT you use the damage profiles as the primary way they are differentiated from each other.
For pretty much every other category I think the OP is spot on...you just can't treat everything like that.

Racial rifles need to be different just as everything else should be unique.

I'm still amazed I'm still around after the horrors of the E3 closed beta. And yet people still ask for Dumbfire Swarms that can be used against infantry...

I think DeadlyAztec11 has a point.
That being said, I do think that every suit should have a role to play in every map, and I think each Rifle should have a variant for every range profile.
So, while I donGÇÖt support making the Rail Rifle good in CQC, I do support having the Assault Rail Rifle be good in CQC so that people skilled into the Rail Rifle will have a viable option in urban maps. Along the same line, I agree with DeadlyAztec11 that the Assault Rifle should not have its range extended, but I say that with the understanding that anyone skilled into the Assault Rifle can switch to a fit with a TAC AR or a Breach AR on open maps.

I think this is a bit exaggerated though... I'll agree with that. I was magnifying a small issue for the sake of argument. I usually dislike doing that, but I was fairly irritated by a barrage of balancing post I read yesterday after 1.10 dropped.
