Yes, there is auto locking timer on old threads to prevent necroing. Please re-make the same thread if you want to keep it going :)

There has been a view blitz's of Necro posters.
Last blitz we got was in the summer/fall time..
Ever since then... all my old threads have slowly been locked indef. |

If a thread has been auto-locked due to inactivity, and you have a legitimate reason for wanting it active again, the author can put in a ticket and ask for it to be unlocked. LogiBro will usually get to it within 3 or 4 days or so. (Be patient, as he is a busy Dev.)
To submit a support ticket, go to https://dust514.com/ then go to the COMMUNITY menu at the top and select Support. On this page you will have an option to Submit a ticket.
I have had to do this for Guides in the Rookie Training Ground forum when the guide needs to be updated due to patch changes. I have also done this once to revitalize my Corp's recruitment thread.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

In the past I've been told that a recruitment thread could be unlocked as long as the original character that posted the thread requests its unlock. CCP are the final say, of course, but that recruitment thread might have a dev post/GM post/be a long thread. It can help with advertising when that happens.
