Can we have an update please?
Looking for information.
The average kills of a sniper per match.
The average kills for individual sniper rifles per match.
Ishokune, Tactical, Charge
Speaking for myself.
What has happened to sniping is about the furthest thing from a buff you can imagine.
After the most recent changes to sniping, my average kills to match have been at least CUT IN HALF. It's easy to see why though. Two of the things needed to snipe well were also nearly cut in half. What were they?
As a user of the Charge Sniper Rifle the reduced clip size is intolerable (from 5 to 3). Not to mention reduced range. (from 600 to 350m) You're constantly reloading. Kills with a Charge Sniper Rifle are much harder to obtain. Even exclusively going for headshots in which case the reduced clip size hinders you extremely. In so much that you're better off using a standard sniper rifle variant. (+50m range, +2 bullets, NO CHARGE TIME, all with only a reduction from 350% to 300% on a headshot.)
The Charge Sniper Rifle is outclassed in it's role by the Standard variant. Which doesn't have enough base damage to be rewarding for skilled players. The sniper rifle that rewarded a skilled player for being able to consistently hit a target but with delayed shots was removed from the game. And replaced with a headshot only weapon where you spend most of the match reloading.
Do you even playtest bro?

Here's the deal I respect your sniping. I saw your vid sitting on the MCC and you see the countless people still redline sniping, ask for a buff when the bullshit MCC and redline sniping is fixed. |

Not sure why anyone would take issue with MCC sniping on that map?
It's the tallest building and they can hit me from their red line. (on that map in particular it was obviously the best sniping spot until someone tried to counter me) It didn't seem any more unfair than a sniper at the edge of their red line, in their red line, on a mountain far away, or on top of their MCC. Snipers will always try and position themselves in hard to reach locations. (especially out of reach for infantry)

I've said this a bunch, but I don't normally red line / MCC snipe. (it has a negative perception, and often has you so far back you lose out on a bunch of possible kills.
Unless it's the best location in my opinion (which again is rather rare) I stay off the MCC.

What if you kept the current charge sniper stats, but it did approximately (after all available buffs) 1000hp damage each body shot?
You could then 1 shot most suits in the game without head-shots. Only commandos and heavies commonly run over 1000hp.
That would be something to be feared. Currently snipers just seem like an annoyance. I almost never feel the urge to try to kill one. |

Then still sniper rifles should be tweaked as soon as the redline bullshit is fixed. 9/10 snipers are sitting in the redline |

Almost nothing has changed. I agree.
In fact red line snipers are now (often times) immune to forward recon snipers. (like me)
In the past they could perhaps sit further back in the red line.. but no matter where they went they could still be counter-sniped.

The only things the ridiculous sniper over-nerfs have done is make it harder to countersnipe redline shooters, and harder to snipe legitimately.
I love how all the idiots who thought, after the nerfs, that snipers were all of a sudden going to start shooting from places where infantry could just walk up and tag them were proven completely wrong. |

You know, forks, I just realized, the Charge Sniper may have received more simultaneous nerfs than any other weapon before. It lost like 1/3 of it's range AND ammo capacity, AND 2/5 of it's magazine capacity, AND had it's reticule changed (although I guess that's technically not an objective nerf) in ONE update. Ridiculous. |

Head shots are extremely hard for me unless player is standing still. Also, the hit detection is horrific.
One thing I really hate about snipers is how you have to sit and wait for 5 secs before your scope is even stable. I would love to be able to snipe while standing up.
I would increase the size of the dot just a bit because you can't even see it.
ATM, the bolt pistol is a better sniper than the sniper it's self.
Edit: the weapon is still weak sauce without head shots and head shots are almost impossible due to the bad hit detection and the twitchy, super strafe players.

Do you think if they changed the Charge magazines to a 5 or 6 round mag but kept everything the same it would help? At least then if a headshot is missed and it is a body shot or miss, there are more opportunities to take out the target/targets. That is my one major point of contention with the Charge. If it had a larger magazine I believe I could tolerate the plethora of other changes. It still would not be where I want it to be, but that should at least make it usable. BTW, your Symbforks Sniper rifle is AMAZING! Too bad I can't seem to ever salvage them.

It would be a band-aid fix, but probably the best one, since it won't actually be made properly viable again. |
