I do...the annotations 20GL and 80GJ are poor and unfitting examples of weapon calibre....as such I tend not to pay any real attention to them. if such massive energies were being generates my HAV would explode with all the force of a cruise missile.
125mm Auto Cannon and 250mm Artillery Guns are used on starship sized vessels (aka frigates) and can inflict damage on vessels like this with (depending on what can be fit) 200mm -400mm plating and penetrate shielding (which could be extender).
Consider that USS Missouri has 9x 16 " Guns (406mm) and 20x 5" Guns (127mm)...... I genuinely do not think a Dropsuit could stand a bombardment like that...... hell I don't think one could stand the effects of a 400 pound bomb.
In Dust our current Sentinel Suit only has 25mm of armour plating....... most if not all of modern military fire arms could I imagine penetrate that.
You have to remember that a 125mm round made by the Minmatar is quite a bit more powerful than a 125mm gun that we would make. And that 25mm of the armor you see on a dropsuit is probably a good bit tougher than 25mm of the stuff we can make. But I will concede your point that the 20 and 80GJ might not be entirely accurate in this game. I do however, think that a dropsuit could definitely walk away from getting hit by a 120mm sabot with relatively little issues. A 406mm might cause issues, but I bet those issues will be that the dropsuit would go flying across the terrain, rather than be destroyed.
And yeah, I'll bet that the USS Missouri could probably destroy a dropsuit, but it has about the amount of firepower I said you'd need to do that. A modern tank though? Not a chance. The dropsuit would walk directly through their fire, and flip the thing like Master Chief can do.
Please, make my Opus pretty...

Honestly? Min Scout.
I don't know about you, but sprinting at 10.38m/s is flat out amazing.
That's 37.37 kmh or just around 23 miles an hour. That's 1.44 times faster than current OLYMPIC Sprinters.
I would just slap the suit on and go and run and jump and stuff. Would be really fun.
Nope real life as in you walking outside fully dressed in combat attire in a hostile environment. Does everything still work as intended? If so, then Min Assault. Still fast. Good shielding and regen with decent armor (If anything in this day and age can even penetrate EVE shields.) I guarantee most heavy ordinance and EM wave lengths can damage shielding.
I'm not just gonna stand still and get hit by tank rounds or artillery. High Caliber snipers would be an issue too.
Short of that? I can't imagine anything really doing too much. Shielding and speed should help out a lot, not to mention the augmented suit would probably make recoil a non-issue.

Aesthetically though? Amarr Medium. The Seraph Logi in particular. Assault Ak.0 is a close second.
If we were to say that all the lethal qualities were removed somehow... I probably pack a Assault Scrambler Pistol, and reroute any power from shields to power the pistol indefinitely for infinite ammo. A Scrambler Pistol running on auxiliary power would still fry an M1 Abrams, so yeah. Energy weapons FTW! Ammo is for scrubs!
A pistol because I prefer the mobility and maneuverability they have over a rifle, and the extra power a rifle has would just be overkill in the modern era. I mean, even a scrambler pistol would be overkill, but it would still be less overkill. You do have to consider that there is not way to functionally operate a Dropsuit without being 8-9 feet tall......so clone body is part of the assumption. And yeah you bring up a very good point even one of the basic weapons we use in Dust 514 could decimate current military assets like tanks and attack helicopters...... but I doubt a drop-suit would walk away from a direct hit from a tank shell or missile. Actually, I doubt even a modern 120mm sabot rounf would down a dropsuit. It would probably hurt one, but I doubt it would destroy it. I'd gesss it would do about 4-5 damage worth. Look at the 20GJ Railguns for instance. They barely do enough damage to destroy a light dropsuit in a single hit, and they are vastly more powerful than any conventional tank guns we currently have. GJ stands for Gigajoules, in case you didn't already know... How do I know a 20GJ is more powerful than a 120mm? Because our most powerful 120mm sabot rounds don't even reach 5GJ... Not even 2... Not even 1GJ. They have 7MJ. We currently have 35GJ railguns. They are insanely more powerful than any other guns we have. However, they must be mounted to the ground, and powered by a reactor, which are things that any modern military just cannot do with a tank. If my dropsuit can withstand multiple hits from a 20GJ, I doubt anything that only outputs a fraction of the energy at a much slower rate is even a threat. I bet a Rail Rifle round has more kinetic energy than a 120mm sabot. TL;DR any modern military weapons aren't even a threat to a dropsuit. You'd need to somehow hit one with hundreds of 120mm sabot rounds at the same time, or nuke it. Anything else would just slow it down. Small arms fire wouldnt even register... TL;DRTL;DR Dropsuits are insane. In Dust our current Sentinel Suit only has 25mm of armour plating....... most if not all of modern military fire arms could I imagine penetrate that. But we should also take into the advances in material engineering obvious to any sci-Fi genre work.
The Minnie's could be using a powder that makes modern precision powders look like black powder today, and our ballistic ceramic might look like porcelain compared to New Edens standard. Lasers might be so powerful that they singe whole a half a meter wide in modern construction. It's hard to contemplate the firepower of modern day to New Eden cause lore doesn't really go too deep in it. It says it's vastly superior and leaves it at that.

I chose Caldari scout mainly because of aesthetics and mobility of the suit, the rest of the scout suits are just ugly (gallente and pajama moma o_o) the Amarr scouts neck is just too visually restrictive but the cal is just right. And I Chose Caldari again for a med frame mainly because of the mobility the suit looks like it provides, unrestrictive in area of 360 pivotal motion (the hip area and shoulders area) most which is important to a runner like me And I chose the Amarr heavy because well your already slow af might as well be the best at it.
