Every fight is more pointless than you could possibly imagine
You have to grind pretty hard for the most mediocre stuff
Level 5 nanoweave stops 2 extra bullets and its over 2k certs to Max......enjoy that
You will either be spawn camping a base or getting spawn camped in one
Its merely a numbers game focussed on zerg tactics and a level of cheese that would make cod and bf cry
There's no actual winning of any kind so therefore it is pretty much the most pointless game ever made
The scale is amazing and you will be amazed for about a month though.................
Anyone who has never played it is going to be the fodder between the fights of gaming communities and clans who are migrating to ps4 for the farmfest..........

The ps4 has a 2gb GPU so that is impossible. The ps4 version will also not be functioning at the same fps as the PC version as confirmed by higby. They also toned down much of the PC version to compensate for the ps4 so its hardly a fix, they just dumbed it down technically speaking.
The PC version is basically now going to be the beta testing for future ps4 updates so the ps4 version isn't better per se', its just not going to have to deal with bugs and glitches like the PC version.
Not that there's that many anyway.
Pretty much the same as warframe, I play that on ps4 as the PC version is buggy and glitchy for longer but it does get updates quicker. I'd much rather the smoother gameplay over content a bit quicker for warframe. They ps4 gets updated when things are fixed.
The hard core community of every game loved it, that doesn't mean anything.

Higby also said that Planetside 2 on PS4 will look better than majority of PS2 players on PC, because it's significantly easier to optimize for the PS4 than it is for so many different rigs on PC.
If you look at thePS4 Beta, you can clearly tell it is on-par with a PC at ultra settings. And since most PS2 players can't run it at ultra settings because it's terribly optimized, it looks better for PS4 users vs the majority of PC players. The UI is also a lot cleaner and the PC version paved way for a cleaned up and well-maintained game.
Also, correct but if I'm wrong, but IIRC doesn't the PS4 use system memory for graphics operations, which makes the GPU VRAM pretty much irrelevant outside of OS?
Basically, what I'm saying is the PS4 version will look good at a stable 30FPS, and the PC version will look better with ultra settings due to a higher FPS. However, you can only achieve that by having a super rig.

The game has been dumbed down loads for console, it might be good but i don't know. It won't be as good that's for sure but we'll see how badly the pop in models will be.

Bro, I'll be playing my PS4 for the next 7 years while casually slumped on my couch watching on my 56" new HD TV with surround sound, my dude. All compact with 1080p games running at a smooth, delicious 60fps.
You can have fun cramped up at a desk with a monitor 2 feet away from your face for the sake of "LULZOMG DA GRAFIX"

Well, the PS4 is considered a pretty decent gaming rig. A very well-optimized $400 PC fit that will carry you for the next 7 years.
I enjoy console gaming over PC gaming, but it would be nice to have a PC so I can play DayZ and enjoy TF2 at a solid framerate.

Well yeah, PC is for more complex games and making money.
Ps4 is for fun.
But anyway concerning planetside 2, I don't think its a coincidence that the game is going to sht right around ps4's release date. I'm talking major pop in and out of players randomly more than ever before and all kinds of silly crap that was never this bad before.
Higby already stated about a week ago ish that it won't be 60fps and the numbers will be reduced, so we'll see how good it is. I'll be playing it (Farming people) anyway.
It's pretty obvious that the PC version was the long beta until consoles could handle it as the console optimisation and other pointless sht from it is spilling over onto the PC version where its not needed.
It had best be making use of all them cores as well.

As a Planetside 1 veteran, let me just say: You guys will be sad. SOE is a worse master than CCP ever was.
Also, the PC has a way bigger install base than PS4, yet Planetside 2's population numbers are approaching Dust levels...

Yeah, for the first few months Planetside 2 will be great, the battles are epic like no other.

I totally understand how some people would rather pick up and play, which, admittedly, is better on the PS4. However, the advantage you have with PC is amazing when compared to the PS4.
With PC you can have at least 15% better performance in games, for the same price of a PS4. You can do homework, use any controller you could ever want (Don't like KB/M, here's your solution), and you can play just about any game every made using emulator. You don't have to sit 2 feet away from a monitor cramped up at a desk, you can sit all the way across the room and enjoy your 56" TV.
Believe it or not, PC gaming as a whole is much cheaper as well, new games that come out for PS4 and Xbone are $60, the while the exact same game that comes out on PC will be something like $40. You also don't have to play $50(? maybe $40) a year just to play online.
If you feel like you want to upgrade your PC even more [though you won't likely need to] you can upgrade any time you want, not whenever Sony or Microsoft decides you need to upgrade. The PS4 doesn't even get 1080p, at most it gets 1080i (which means it's upscaled). PC has more exclusives and far more quality and quantity of free to play games.

Me and John are simpletons. We don't really care about graphics since as of now, it looks and plays great. I'm sure 6 years down the line, we'll be a bit behind, but then we'll just get the PS5.
We're just silly fanboys that enjoy comfort. And yeah I can hook up my PC to my TV (I don't know how in the hell I could even do that to be honest), but let's be honest. PC gamers are for the ultra-hardcore, console is for the lesser gamers.
And the PS4 is a mid-ranged gaming PC, but it will ALWAYS have the best optimization. The same PC fit may not be able to run a certain game at the same settings simply because the game wasn't optimized for THAT specific rig, that's what I love about consoles.
That, and all my IRL friends have consoles, no gaming PCs.

But... the PS4 is the equivalent of a low end gaming PC. The only reason SOME games run a little better on PS4 than PC is simply because the developers are too lazy to do a proper PC port so they outsource it to some guys who didn't help develop the game whatsoever.
Also, to hook a PC up to a TV just hook the HDMI cable in the back of the PC and then into the TV...

Look at the Planetside 2 pop chart I posted. Planetside has suffered a steeper decline than Dust has, and the recent peak numbers for both games are now comparable:

The end-game of PS2 is not compelling, victory is extremely transient, the meta is ultra stale, and SOE will continue to mismanage it into the ground.

A $400 PC will not be able to run ARMA 3 on max, if you say yes you are bullshitting yourself. If you want to spend 600-800+ dollars on a PC, be my guest, no one is stopping you. Just know that you will be getting that 200-400+ dollars of added performace on your machine for games that would have played just the same on low graphics on a $400 PC. Graphics aren't everything, Content > Graphics.
If you spend $400 on a PC, you're getting the same quality as a console, but on a freaking PC. Yes, you may be able to pull of some ridiculous deals, but hey guess what, I can pull off a great deal on a PS4 and I'll at least always have 30fps (at the very minimum).

Spoke to him and Sum1 a while ago. They both said they're doing great and are really enjoying the new console and pretty much shared their disappointment in DUST and will be playing PS2 when it drops.

Yes, absolutely, Planetside 2 will have an explosive launch on PS4, just like it did on PC(especially since a lot of original Planetside players got their character names reserved). But the population will steadily drop as Sony does their thing.
Also, the PS4 and PC codebases have recently been merged (which led to many delicious bugs), which indicates that screwups for both versions will happen more or less simultaneously in the future.

Well, the PS4 is considered a pretty decent gaming rig. A very well-optimized $400 PC fit that will carry you for the next 7 years. I enjoy console gaming over PC gaming, but it would be nice to have a PC so I can play DayZ and enjoy TF2 at a solid framerate.
PC is more of one big purchase and because of the twin wonders of piracy and steam games are rather cheap on PC.
Also Sony seems as bad as CCP I imagine that's how DUST was born...

The critical point you are missing is that it is the only game of it's kind on console. With nearly eight million PS4's sold it will have a much more active and larger playerbase.
PS2 fizzling out on PC is a matter of better games being released for PC, but on the console side of things it will be a major success simply for the uniqueness of the game itself.

Couldn't have said it better myself. DUST not succeeding when it's the ONLY F2P FPS on the market is just a testament to how bad the fundamentals of this game are. I feel that they simply didn't have the experience nor the money to do this game. The simplest mechanics such as shooting, graphics, aiming, sounds and maneuverability are so broken.
In PS2, it's a much easier game to get into. It still has a learning curve, but the basic mechanics are good, and the game is just flat-out gorgeous. It will be considered a sci-fi battlefield to newcomers and will only have to complete with Blacklight: Loltribution.

more like invade, farm a lane, ward your lane, gank a lane, dragon, farm lane, go for tower, bait team fight, win team fight, farm lane, gank losing lane, farm lane, go for another tower, dragon, farm, farm, farm, gank another lane, take that lane's tower, farm, dragon, farm, objective, farm, farm, farm, counter jungle, take last front tower, baron, bait team fight at baron, win team fight, take baron, recall, push mid, dragon, push bot, counter jungle, farm, farm, farm, win team fight, get dragon, win.
basic overview, but that's a pretty perfect game. but of course the complications come in when you add in the fact that there are 9 other players on the battlefield at any given time.

If you want yeah, that is a perfect game.
Where are the 9 players coming from?, it was 4v4 with zerg bots when I played.
Has there been some kind of update because you make it seem so much more than it is/was. I was pretty good right off the bat because it is basically a tiny little fraction of an mmo so it was nothing. Its like a tablet game for PC.
