Recently I've been playing with the plasma cannon and I'm wondering is it really worth putting sp into. I think its an amazing weapon but very under used alot like the laser rifle or the assault rifle theses days but it can be really affective to infantry and as Av. |

Worth it
One weapon that does require some SP investment to be great though.
Getting that Charge time down, and Rapid Reload are what really makes it viable.

Yep! When you upgrade PLC operation lvl it reduces the charge time before the PLC shoots by 5% per lvl IIRC ^^ |

It has to charge up before firing. The operation skill shortens this, reducing exposure time to the enemy when firing from cover and making snap-shots easier o pull off. It's a poor weapon to begin with, but max it out and attach it to a galmando and you have heavy and shield-tank buster to be proud of. PLC kills are deeply satisfying moments.

Operation reduces the Charge time of the Plasma Canon. 5%/level

Ahh but accuracy is my main thing. Its great having level 5 reload but I've got to actually hit the guy in the face. Not sure if its possible to take down proto heavy's with pro level5. I've had a couple of time directly hit him and he has like 200 hundred and somthing amor |

Pro-tip: Due to the single-shot nature of the PLC its DPS profits the most from bonuses to reload speed.
If you bring up rapid reload and put it on a high level commando suit the weapon is in a completely different category than what you'd otherwise experience. |

Probably you hit him with standard plasma,with advanced plasma he would be dead,or heavily armor tanked...Few days ago i direct hit one dude with my advanced assault forge gun and he survived with around 150 armor...And yes,I have forge gun prof. lvl 5...

With allotek PLC you can hit REALLY hard with a galmando + prof 5 + damager (more than 2000hp in direct hit). No heavies can resist to such things! It only happens with lower plasma canon tier against brick tanked heavies ^^ |

One of the top 5 guns in the game. Raise everything to 5, even the optimization. The allotek raw is 117 CPU I think. |

If you like it, than yes it's worth it. Most aren't that good with it, but in the right hands it can be pretty deadly.

What's wrong with the AR?
I was in a PC a few nights ago, and nearly took down a Min commando using the assault combat rifle. No shield extenders, no damage mods, just precision enhancers in the highs because I was a Gal logi, with a fair amount of armor in the lows. I tend to like some maneuverability.
Pretty sad for a Gal logi with a Duvolle and no damage mods to nearly take down a Min commando that gets a passive damage bonus to the combat rifle.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

It's not really hard when MinComs in PC only have 400HP of Shields and Duvolles do about 500+ DPS.
