Considering the anger, frustration, despair, and divisiveness he has cause in the community with his actions, not to mention the state of the game and this vaporware product we keep getting told about, should this man lose his job? |

Then tell me who WAS in charge of the fanfest unveil, because I would certainly like to know. And the "vital update" dust needs is to be ported to PS4, where it can thrive, not be given bandaids as it dies on a outdated system. |

Some will never get one, and eve for ps4 has been announced; it's called EVE:ValkyRie. Everyone remembers when rouge got on to "clarify" the dust keynote by continuing to talk about legion but so few notice that rouge isnt one that posts on tue forum much. Anything anybody says about how poorly he's handled the past 6 months is purely speculation. Chill and appreciate how far the games come since "no new updates". Also get psyched about loot bags and missions yo
A lot of Dust players don't have a gaming pc, and never will. And I don't give a damn about valkyrie, Dust is my game. Valkyrie is not a replacement for Dust. It was clear and unambiguously stated that Rouge was put in charge of all things dust. How are things going badly not his fault? But no, I know I am wrong. Tell me how it feels when Dust gets shut down with the ps3 servers and legion is "still being worked on very hard". |

Not at all....should you? The PS3 is no longer made...get over it.
You couldn't even read through a five reply thread before making a comment that has already been addressed. Wow. |

Tell me how it feels when Dust gets shut down with the ps3 servers and legion is "still being worked on very hard". *shrugs* its not 'your game' its the game you play. CCP owns the game, and sony owns the servers, both can be shut down at any time for any reason and there is jack squat you can do about it. CCP has stated Dust is NOT going to ps4. Not yet anyway, maybe never. And even if rouge left its not his descion as to what happens to dust. That sits with the bean counters at ccp who crush numbers and decided that either 1) dust was not up to par with what they wanted and could never be. or 2) dust did not make anywhere near enough money to keep it going or 3) dust did not make enough money to justify forking out whatever ccp has to to sony and dealing with sony to do updates. So a new EP of Dust won;t stop where its going if the higher ups tell him 'no, dust is done, focus on legion, do what you can to get money from dust but its done once legion is out' The EP coudl counter but in the end he or she goes 'yes sir' and does what they are told. The EP gets numbers to hit and metrics and figure out what projects need priority and gets done and approves things based on the overall statigey of the company. Once the company shifted to New Eden on pc, then dust on ps3 took a back seat. He;s doing as best he can with whatever resources ccp corp says he can utilize on dust vs legion vs any other thing they are working on. This is how business works, Who told them what the fanfest presenation was gonna be? my guess is whoever is in charge at ccp over the ep's and the companies direction, which is more then likly the BoD and the CEO. So instead of trying to fire someone, why don;t you just go back to melting faces in a game you don;t even really have to pay for to play.
Alright, first of all, smartass, I said that dust is 'my' game not in a possessive sense, but like you would say "the cowboys are my team" or "gin and tonic is my drink". Second: http://dust514.com/news/2014/05/introducing-project-legion/
"We realized we would never be able to do it by iteration, any more than one could overhaul the engines of a plane in flight, and to do this right it would need to become something new -- a distinct and separate experience from what weGÇÖve previously offered on DUST 514. We also feel that, to do this right, we need to do it on the PC platform first."
So Rouge was involved in the decision. He didn't say "oh yeah some bean counters where like 'you guys should put that on PC.' he said 'we'." |
