- merge Ama/Cal and Gal/Min queues - remove pub skirmish so people have to play FW to skirmish - something else
I don't care what it is, so long as we can actually play the game more than queue... |

I don't care what it is, so long as we can actually play the game more than queue... they cannot merge as you lose standing when fighting for other factions. I believe you only lose standing when you fight for the 'arch enemy' faction. So, for instance, you lose Gallente standing if you fight for Caldari.
What I'm suggesting is that Amarr and Caldari queues are merged, and Gallente and MInmatar queues are merged. So nobody would be in a fight that lost them standing with their favoured faction. |

As for a queue sync, when I've been in one queue times are still absurdly long, often to the point where one or both squads give up. |

Yea its some messed up BS is you ask me. One would think that a solo player would have a much easier time finding a single open spot in a FW battle right? When I am solo trying to get into Minmatar FW it can take 10,20 + mins and I still might never get into a battle. However when I join somebody else's squad, we usually get in in a handful of mins. Is it because I am in the UK? Hell even squads I host take forever. Its like I can only get into FW if I join somebody else's squad. Also, if a faction is over populated because people are trying to dogpile because X faction is "easy" wins (true or imagined) the wait times also go up. If you want to que into faction in under 5 mins join one of the faction warfare channels that players have made and get a synch going. Our wait time for Amarr was under 30 seconds on average. This morning (UK time) we were getting 5min+ queues even for Amarr (having given up on Gallente as impossible to get into).
This isn't prime time by any stretch, but you don't have these problems getting into dom or ambush. The reason is that the skirmish playerbase is split seven ways (Amarr, Caldari, Gallente, Minmatar, EU pub, America pub, Asia pub). There are players we COULD be playing with/against but they are trapped in different queues, so instead of playing, we're all waiting. |

Atiim wrote:Both of those are terrible choices.
Merging ques together removes your ability to fight for your Faction (the entire point of FW) while forcing you to fight for a Faction who's goals you don't agree with.
The 2nd option would cause people to quit DUST as there are several players who don't like Domination and Ambush, but have friends and squadmates who play for opposing factions.

There's nothing CCP can do to decrease the que times as it depends on how many players are participating. While they have tried their hardest to make FW appealing (BPOs, +50% LP, etc) most still refuse to play it. 1. If you're such a fanatical Amarrian (or whatever) you can always back out when you see the battle finder is putting you in a Caldari fight. So no one is 'forced to fight' for a faction other than their favourite. And anyway, it would actually be a positive thing to encourage (not force) Amarr and Caldari supporters to fight together (and Gallente and Minmatar). They are supposed to be allies, but there is nothing in the current iteration of FW that reflects this.
2. 'People who don't like dom or ambush and have friends from opposed factions' is such a niche within a niche that it can't really be put ahead of the fundamental health of the game. Pub skirmish itself has long queue times (in EU at least), it is not a popular mode and would be a candidate for deletion even if there wasn't a dire need for more FW players.
3. CCP have not done their hardest, they have showered players with more LP (an in-game benefit) without addressing the fundamental point that the skirmish playerbase is split seven ways so will inevitably have long queues (a real world disbenefit). People generally prefer real world benefits to in-game benefits. THAT is why people don't play FW - people want to play, they don't want to queue. |
