Here's s bigger question.... Who knows wtf BW for uplinks even is?! It's not even listed on the patch note page with the rest of the equipment!!! (Or I'm just blind) |

Really?! I find it funny that people are sitting around boo hooing about something and don't even have all the details |

Nothing Certain wrote:I don't like this solution, I think they should have just removed the ability to switch suits, but the WP ***** side of me is going to be delighted. If I dropped links I used to still worry about things like running AV, hacking stuff and killing reds but no more. I'll be in a logi suit so I'll just find the nearest heavy, of which there will be plenty, and make him near invincible.
Honestly I am curious how it is going to play out. I've been wrong before. Once.
I thought about them just making it to where you can't switch suits too.. But honestly, that would be worse IMO.. At least this way, if you NEED to switch, the option is there.. Even if u have to lose deployed equipment. I hope this change will bring about better squad/team based game (like it was meant to be) people that wanna solo stomp? Find a different game or cry me a river |

Also, who said you can't do AV in a logi suit that has the same bandwidth? In a perfect world plcs would be used just as much as are. I'm a maxed out ads pilot no one will want to use a mcru until there's an option to kick blues out of the passenger seats. actually, im seeing more and more MCRUs every day, and I've personally been running since 1.7. ADS arent really meant to use MCRUs, anyways.
Yes you can still switch suits as often as you like.. The damage doesn't get transferred when u switch, the % shield and % armor does.. Otherwise, that almost dead scout that just switched into a heavy would not even be through his shields most of the time..
And thank god for the mcru... I don't care what anyone says.. I'll spawn in on them, drop a little ways away from a lightly guarded objective, and hit the ground running at over 10 m/sec in my assault suit..
And none of this answered my question about BW cost of the drop links :/ |

Vyuru wrote:I don't know.
On the one hand, I agree that I have some concerns about BW and switching suits due to changing situations, AV and the like.
On the other hand, and granted, using an extreme case, I won't have to deal with 40+ uplinks spammed all around an objective by a squad of 4 (and yes I counted those blasted uplinks)
Equipment spam IS starting to become more common in pubs, I just don't know if this is the right way to go about it.
Having an AV tank fitting ready to go, and turret installations just become more important though, as that's the easiest way to get some AV out without switching suits that I can see.
I've only messed around with MCRUs until now, I might have to look into making a tough to kill LAV with a MCRU in it.
I have to double check, let's say I have one uplink out, and I switch to another suit that can still support the UL BW. The uplink is destroyed regardless isn't it? Or does it stay?
It will stay.. Any equipment you deploy will stay as long as your currently deployed suit can support it. If the equipment exceeds the suit's BW, equipment will be destroyed (first to last) in the order you dropped it.. Like changing suits into smaller BW OR DROPPING MORE EQUIPMENT |

Currently I use a logi to spam hives and uplinks then when I die I spam my APEX sentinels So if there is droplink on the roof near the object you will get heavy spam the whole game.
This is exactly why BW was introduced.. We aren't supposed to be one man armies.. Heavies don't have equipment for a reason.. This does make me wonder though... If you do drop an uplink, can u still spawn on it as a heavy, then it is destroyed? Or do u get trapped in the wormhole half way in and commit suicide? Haha!! |

jane stalin wrote:I assume that as soon as you change to a fitting with a lower band width , then your equipment pops so this would happen before you deploy,
In the short term equipment spam needs to go
In the long term I want a dynamic game with giant opening doors and areas with a countdown to an orbital strike If you are a heavy that outsmarts the assaults then you engage them at close range and murder them and if the assaults outsmart you then they murder you at long range. That doesn't make sense that choosing/looking at a fitting would destroy your equipment... But, you're right, neither does being able to spawn in on a link you dropped if u can't support the BW... Guess we will find out next week :/ |
