A friend of mine got me into this game and so I naturally joined his corporation. It's a crap corporation though in terms of Dust514 because of the less than a dozen actual people who is with this corporation I am the only one who actively plays Dust.
Anyways, I told my friend that I wanted him to start providing Orbital Support to my matches in Dust (I pay taxes therefore I should get something out of it). He says he doesn't want to bring his ships to the planets I am fighting on because he fears other ships in Eve might attack and blow up his ****.
My question: is it possible for other ships in Eve to blow his ass up if he tries to provide Orbital Support in Public Matches (not Factional Matches; I just started playing Factional Matches over this past week so at the time I was requesting Orbital Support from him Public Matches was the only thing on the table)?
If his ship can get blown up what are the chances that something like that would happen?
I guess ultimately I would like to know what risks does a player in Eve take when they go to provide Orbital Support to a member of their corporation in Public Contracts? |

So if I wanted to use an Orbital Strike in a public match I just need to pay attention to the combined total WP for the team and be the first to call in the strike? |

No.
You need your own squad.
If you are squad lead, on reaching 5000 WP total across the squad, not the team, you will receive a notification 'orbital strike available' and then the squad lead can call it in.

Seriously? I don't play with squads (though I am considering it for Factional Warfare which I just started playing). It would be nice if they allowed it for the entire team and not just squads but just increase the WP amount needed to call it in; 5000 WP needed for the squad and something like 13,000 WP needed for a team to call it in. |
