I just got my core skills to 5 and that's that.
I am SO sick and tired of getting killed by Proto this and proto that. Mainly Breaches and HMGs. I ALMOST ALWAYS get them down to about 50 armour in my starter fit. And I know if I had equal gear, I would be destroying these people. It's so dis satisfying when you get killed to someone that is more SP than you in an FPS.
I literally am losing my patience and I don't want to quit but it sucks because my KDA has dropped so much this last week since I got out of the academy where people are equal geared. I had about a 6.15 KDR which has not dropped to 1.6 and dropping still fast. Which is ruining my chances of ever getting into a PC corp.
I have no idea what to do and even getting to an advanced level suit and modules takes so long.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I am considering buying the APEX Nomad suit tomorrow which hopefully will help even just a little. But I just don't know what to do. So many new players quit because of this reason but there must be something I can do to compete on a fair level.
Two points.
#1 - If proto suits are barely killing your starter suit you're doing something right. By way of comparison, I played in starter suits for almost six months in pubs, and my KDR really suffered for it (TBH, it still is more than a year later) -- but I built up a nice wallet and I got very good with my weapon of choice, so when I did get the proto suits unlocked, I had enough ISK to fund them and enough skill to make them last. So, don't become frustrated -- you're doing something right and your day will come.
#2 - If you want to get on a PC team, play (or even better, mic up and squad) with PC players and impress them. I know when I'm evaluating players for our PC team, I'm much more focused on how a person plays rather than his KDR. Said a bit differently, I'd much rather have a player on my team that goes 1:10 and defends a point from being taken than a person who goes 10:1 and loses the point. |
