I watched CEOpyrex's videos and some of the maneuvers that he pulled of are impossible with DS3. For example, he could sprint side to side without changing direction. I am not calling you KB/M players out to say "hey you do KB/M strafe" but it is unfair and broken.
KB/M is a digital input where as analog sticks are an analog. With KB/M either you are pressing it or not, therefore these is no acceleration, they go to full speed side to side without any slowdown.
Your being ignorant and beleiving forum bullshit that has been disproved hundreds of times. By direct quotes from developers to practical youtube tests.
The Keyboard isn't a keyboard in DUST. It's an overlay of the DS3. When you press A,S,D,W to move on a keyboard, You are merely emulating the input on the DS3.
Every movement made with the keyboard and DS3 has movement acceleration so that it is physically impossible to max out your moving speed in quick back and fourth movements.
Further, NO ONE USES MOUSE AND KEYBOARD IN THIS GAME ANYMORE.
Don't believe me? Go grab one and plug it into your USB ports and play for an hour and check your results.. The Mouse and Keyboard is an emulation of the DS3 and a terrible one at that... It is near impossible to use in a competitive setting.
If you go out and spend 60 bux on an Emulator http://www.penguinunited.com/ <--- like here? You can setup Aim assist to work with Mouse and actually set hotkeys, while having 1000X better emulation.
CCP Knew people wouldn't have a problem spending 60 bux to use a Mouse and keyboard in their game, So they balanced the Mouse and Keyboard and DS3 by themselfs and made it an extremely even playing field making no difference in plugging in your Mouse or buying the emulator.. The Input results where near the same. CCP Shanghai's leadership then quit and the couple employees took it on themselves to Put Aim Assist in DUST with it's terrible GTA style hit detection. This then imbalanced the Inputs based on someone spending 60 bux. An Emulator with Mouse + Aim assist + Dust's "Lockon" hit detection system screwed the balance in inputs.
As far as moving? There is no difference from a keyboard to a controller what so ever, except movement patterns... Keyboard movers are much easier to hit then a stutter stepping DS3 user. This is just facts that have been tested in competitive circles for years.
Mouse and Keyboard is broken as ****. unless you spend 60 bux+ on an emulator to actually Do CCP's development job for them. |
