The Queen set foot for the first time on Skadii soil. She looked around at its inhabitants and was surprised how much decide to forgo clothing, noticing those in a kind of light armour. Soldiers no doubt. Her gaze then turned towards the elaborate silk robed attire, a kind of holy garment perhaps? She was also inwardly embarrassed at how difficult she found telling each one apart from the next. The crew began unloading the cargo of the ship. Some merchants had been invited along to be among the first of the Osmar to establish trade.
One such merchant was Widuc, a well known dealer of Furs and Leather. He brought with him only the finest quality furs from creatures as small as a beaver and as large as a bear, with leathers being mostly Deer and Cow. His stock had been unloaded and, with the permission of the Skadii, set up a stall beside other merchants. All showing the goods the Osmar have to offer.
After the business of unloading the cargo, particularly the horses, was over with the Queen with Krion and her guards prepared to leave for the capital, whilst leaving some behind with the ship. Shortly before commencing the ride, the Queen curtseyed before her Murguard escort, the captain Adelya and spoke. "Good day. It's a pleasure to meet you. You're the one tasked with escorting us to your capital correct? Do tell me, how long is the journey?"
What're you looking at me like that for? I'll shank you I will.

"We have sworn fealty to the Dalmascas Empire, our loyalty to Tenarius Auditore, why do you come here sir?" the guard asked.
Back in Dalmasca.... Tenarius is outside giving commands to his troops, making them fight and condition. He spars with a young faced man, they parry each others blow until Tenarius throws hard jab in the ribs and knocks his opponents weapon away.
"Gotta be ready for a punch or kick anytime, trust me it will happen, pick up your weapon and join up with everyone else." Tenarius the soldier. He looks up at the sun, the earl should be here soon but hopefully he didn't mistake the cave as Dalmasca. If he has the guards will send him the right way.
'Perhaps he wasn't a madman after all...' thought Cenred to himself after hearing this soldier speak Tenarius' name. Or perhaps it was an elaborate scheme by a mercenary captain. If that was the case his soldiers are more than capable.
"You're lord, Tenarius, contacted me recently and extended an invitation to the city of Dalmasca" said Cenred, who then looked down the mouth of the cave. He'd hoped he'd not reached it, only a fool would try build a city somewhere like that.
"I would request an escort, as I believe I may have come to the wrong location."
What're you looking at me like that for? I'll shank you I will.

In Skadia.......... The Mouth of the Mur River
" Yes Ma'am.... Your Grace." Said the warrior carefully so as not to offend the procession of merchants, guardsmen, and other wise foppish looking diplomatic type human landborn whom she feared the barge would not be able to convey in their entirety. The Queen however was fair for a pale skin, certainly more so than the ***** looking Paric whom she had glimpsed up[on sailing into the dockyards aboard her ship, the Lewyetan.
"The journey Up-River should not take more than a few hours Your Grace. We may have to make several stops to navigate a section of the narrows however this should not prevent your arrival in the capitol by this evening. Also have no fear for your safety while in our lands, there are no Mur more skilled with an axe or who have plied the river's and oceans that would give their lives in place of yours."
Will all said and done she raised he chin so as to expose her throat before offering a sign of respect to Krion, raising a closed fist and placing it over a scale-shod breast with a rustling as the plates scraped across one another. That one is a man-mate, she thought to her self surprised as her own sense of intuition, she could smell it after a certain fashion, not something she was particularly gifted with by any stretch.
With the formalities out of the way she beckoned to her Lieutenant,a sharp gesture, who broke ranks with a pair of other Mur and began to gesture for the human guests to board the gracefully carved barges of which by this point three such vessels had come into harbour respectfully asking them to store any items of significant weight in the aft holds.
While this was under way she addressed the remaining score of troops upon the dock.
"Il'yeth. Take half a dozen of them warriors by Phrsam to the Narrows to prepare the winches along the River Road, M'we you will take four men of your choice, the best swimmers, and follow the barges from the rear. Both of you are to signal us if you spot any Thrashes the length of the River. The remainder will be divided four to a barge to compliment to the Queen's own guard"
She gave the assembled a menacing glare.
"Any one of you scale-skin bastards steps out of line and we'll gladly throw you to the bloody Skaum, are we clear?"
Few spoke, all nodded their understand, knowing full well she would do it without a moment's hesitance. Adelya was not a woman to brook failure being the current commander of the Murguard. With that she hefted the massive iron double headed great axe over one shoulder, counter balancing its weight lazily with one arm, and dismissed them to carry out her orders.
She returned to the the Queen and her man-mate. "By your leave Your Grace.... and yours Sir. Should you 'ave need of me I will be stationed aboard your barge at it's prow."

(Introducing Ashton, second in command for the order) On the path to Skadia.... It confused Ashton why he was being sent to a place called Skadia and to act as the Empire's diplomat, he had wanted to be with Tenarius and help with the capital. But instead he was travelling to a far off land he did not know, except for the maps he researched. He was older than Tenarius by a whole year, he was also his second in command. He had fought alongside Tenarius during the revolution which started the golden age for exploration and settling for their people, Tenarius may be young but he was a capable leader and warrior. Just up ahead....there appears to be a small party of armor clad warriors, he tells his own party of soldiers to hold their position.

"Of course, we'll leave immediately" replied the Queen to Adelya. As they boarded the barge's the guards put their armour in the holds, wearing their amber coloured uniforms underneath, with red trims to distinguish themselves as Royal Guard. With the rise of firearms armour had become less reliable in defending against them, and any armour used on the battlefield was typically steel, rather than the ceremonial bronze that was brought with them.
After some time, +åschild couldn't help but take notice of the Mur armaments. They used large axes, far larger than the standard issue of Osmar soldiers, and not a single firearm was in sight. Perhaps they had yet to discover them. She had also been highly curious of their method of leadership as she is still very unfamiliar with the Skadian region, to a point where she approached Adelya to pose the question. "I would like to ask, how are your people ruled? What kind of power does Shuriden exert?"

"I would like to ask, how are your people ruled? What kind of power does Shuriden exert?"
"Myhe." She swore softly from her watchful position on the fore deck of sturdy barges, having amused herself greatly watching the manner by which the Osmarii guard seemed to glare at the heavy double bladed axes she and her warriors carried almost as if outraged or in disbelief, approaching the queen with the slightest hint of amusement written across her features.
Ignorant or not, and regardless of which, Adelya found the Queen to be a likeable woman, and likeable or not it would be best for her to correct their assembly before another made a contraction of the name of the Skadii matriarch.
"Please Your Grace, she is Shuri'den'shalvys, and she is........ it is as if...." She cut off, wide brow furrowing with frustration, as if the correct words were lost on her and the point of explaining was a futile one. "I suppose it will be clear to you when you meet her, Your Grace, she is the heart of our people like no other's would be. In bearing, in quality, in impression she is like no other of out people....."
It was difficult for Adelya to rely on words to describe to others what it was like to be in the Tower in service to the matriarch her people so earnestly venerated and obeyed without question. The queen and the man-mate would come to understand once they met her though, of that she was sure.
"Would it surprise you to say that the Mur are beholden to no secular authority but the God's?" She responded knowing it wasn't strictly true. " Shuri'den'shalvys is to us like a mother. She speaks for us, and guides us, asks the heavens to bless us, and suffers for us. We follow her as a sign of respect....but you shouldn't ask me. I am no scholar on the subject other Mur might have your answer...I do not."
She lapsed into silence for several minutes musing over her inability to articulate herself in an acceptable manner before the foreign ruler wondering how the Queen would react if she expressed her thoughts on the matter. Mid thought she noted the woman's curious glance at her armament and dismissed such disorganised and impractical thought from her mind.
"Your Grace. Do you have some reservation about our arms? My warriors do not keep ineffectual tools on their person, each blade was sharpened and oiled prior to your arrival... if you concern are those gaudy silks I shall have the warriors remove them from their persons the very minute."

During the silence the Queen reflected upon what Adelya had told her about the Mur ruler. Their religious leader and their political leader were the one position. She thought of Revon and how he was both the leader Parabunny nation and their Creed, though it was unlikely that the similarities continued beyond that. In her speech it appeared that Adelya, and perhaps other Mur, revered the Matriarch as though she were directly under the influence of their god or gods. It was certainly a discussion she would like to have with someone more suited to speak of the subject.
After pondering these thoughts the Queen couldn't help but turn her gaze back towards the Mur Guards. The weaponry, while well crafted, seemed rather outdated. They lacked firearms of any kind, a product which had become standard in the Osamr military. When Adelya spoke up +åschild replied: "My apologies, I'm sure they're perfectly capable. I just find it...unusual, your lac of firearms that is."

Tech tier is (if I remember) tribal with the acception of the royal guards who possess crossbows and axes (further weapons will be discussed if inquiries are made by Raven or others)
Terrain: jungle, mountainous, plains Weak Terrain: water, swamps, marshes Referrer to themselves as a people (exception is the king)
Reserved people, most live high up in the mountains where most races cannot reach
Extremely acrobatic, weaker frames, and extremely fast allowing for guerrilla warfare but easy to hurt
Primary goods: wheat, sugar, narcotic drugs Secondary goods: medicines, poisons

On the island off the continent to the west...
Godwin's long trek through the jungle eventually brought him and his party to a clearing. A good thing too, as the journey had been tiring. Ahead was a cliff which held a waterfall that flowed into a small lake. Godwin tasted the water.
"It's fresh, drink up lads. We'll rest a bit before moving on."
After drinking and washing his face, Godwin sat down a bit and thought about the situation. A faint hope would be if one of the other ships had survived they could reach the kingdom and inform them of land, though it could take months before any others reach them. No, if he wanted to get back he'd have to find a way to get off the island without outside interference, but how he wondered.
(( At Cryptic. Welcome back. The old continent is getting a bit cramped One option is to place your nation on one of the other continents, but it'd probably restrict your interaction with whoever is exploring that one. ))
What're you looking at me like that for? I'll shank you I will.

((Me, and Crypt have been discussing ways he may get back in without breaking the little 'Lore' of this world. It would seem Raul and Godwin have a surprise in store.))

A good thing too, as the journey had been tiring. Ahead was a cliff which held a waterfall that flowed into a small lake. Godwin tasted the water. "It's fresh, drink up lads. We'll rest a bit before moving on." After drinking and washing his face, Godwin sat down a bit and thought about the situation. As King Za'harr watched the strange race drink from their water and camp out on their land he pondered what action he would take.
We'll wait till star fall to infiltrate these creatures' camp he said to his group of hunters who had just returned from their camp in the western side of the island. As he turned to walk back a grin stretched across his maw as he thought of the hours to come as he loved company, especially when they look helpless

Spademan wrote:During the silence the Queen reflected upon what Adelya had told her about the Mur ruler.
In Skadia......... The Mur River Run in transit to The Narrows
"An astute observation Your Grace" Adelya replied with a chuckle that resembled the peal of bells. This Queen was no foppish, city dwelling, pale-skin as was her opinion of the other diplomats, like herself the woman had some steel to her even if she carried none herself. " Do you know much of my people's physical nature Your Grace? Our's is a people suited to the oceans and river ways as such we have no use of weapons that cannot function in damp conditions. More to the point...."
She extended an long, spade like arm before the Queen, flaring one of the delicate, green, fin appendages that ran along her fore arm, for the Queen's inspection. Upon such a glance it became immediately obvious that the Queen that the pale blue skin was decorated by a series of naturally occurring patterns in rich hues of aquatic blues and greens and covered by a thin oily layer that caused the skin to glisten in the light.
"The firearm weapons the Tal-man supplied us with do not agree with us though we have found a means to make use of the large cannon. Regardless the crossbow is not so inferior to the rifle that we have yet need to change our ways."
A slight disturbance behind her drew her attentions revealing the scale armoured form of her lieutenant to whom she offered an impatiant roll of her eyes as if to hurry him along.
"Tide-swan we are approaching the Narrows. We must prepare to disembark to move the barges.....also......"
"Spit it out Ni'alo. What word?"
He looked sheepish, his pale blue skin darkening slightly. If nothing else the look on his face was one of shame mixed with a slight hint of fear as if expecting some kind of violent response form his commanding officer that might involve his being tossed off the barges. "A signal from Il'yeth Tide-swan. She had happened upon a Thrash at the Narrows...her men are dealing with it as we speak but....."
She nodded soberly. It was not ideal for the Skadii to present one of the less accommodating aspects of the Isles to their guests but was little that could be done as such natural occurrences were commonplace after the storm seasons that ravaged the Isles before the Festival celebrations.
"Bring M'we's command in to the river banks. We disembark as planned. Il'yeth will have seen to the Thash by the time we arrive. Just be on guard. At such times as these the Skaum can be feisty. More importantly alert the Osmari guardsmen to ready their weapons in case the worst should happen. I shall see to the Queen and the Man-mate."
