Hi there.
I am a long time player of duat and have been heavy for a long time. Since i started I have seen the introduction of mroe suits and weapons for all the races. Vehicles have come and gone and weapons seem to be increasing in number. How ever the only suit that STILL doesnt have all its racial variant weapons is the heavy suit.
Why is this?
What is being done about it?
Many thanks

Rattati posted this recently: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2483325#post2483325
To me, racial parity is completely irrelevant, mind you. The most important factor to me is if something added provides a big added benefit to gameplay. Not having as big of a team creating stuff as they used to makes unique new weapons tougher, but after a lot of stuff that Rattati has been working on fixing to get the game somewhat back on track, it starts to look much more possible to devote time to stuff like this.

How ever the team they have can do new map and loads of new sockets and lets not forget thier money making suits. Yet heavy weapons are honestly forgotten.
Newer versions of new weapons are around. Including new Officer variants yet still no new heavy weapons. It cant be as difficult as they say since the introduction of so many weapons since leaving BETA.
But then again its a small group asking for it and not the larger groups and alliances.
Tut Tut

Maps were already made. Heavy weapons are not.

Officer variants are changing a couple numbers in a database. Designing entirely new weapons is not so easy.

Yet they made the combat rifles and others along with the cloak which obviously was easy as well?
Even though we have been asking for more heavy weapons since release? Heavies where last suits out and now we wait for nearly 2 years for heavy weapons?
really?
Really?

And we where asking for the heavy weapons since before all of those.
Since release we have been asking for heavy weapons. The Combat rifle, Plasma cannon and rail rifle has been added.
Along with the Ion pistol, Magsec smgs and Bolt pistols.
Cloaks has been added.
PC has been added.
New Maps and sockets.
Vehicles have been added taken away and reworked.
we have had the rest of the racial suits added in all forms.
Tons of things added.
So in none of the time it took them to do all of that they couldn't make the heavy weapons?
Please please think before speaking.
It may have been long ago but then the HMG should have been done long ago as well.
I Love this game I have spent money and was damn heart broken at the mention of Legion.
No I am not part of any of the influential groups and dont give a damn about politics.
All I want is my HMG.
You represent the players as a CPM. Please act like it.
Many thanks.

And before all of those, DUST 514 had pretty much a completely different development team then they do now. So complaining about what that team did or didn't do has basically no fundamental use in this conversation. It's not productive. CCP Rattati was not in charge of DUST before Hotfix Alpha, and is not responsible for their decisions back then.
The current team is not anywhere near as large as the old team, and has to work with what they have. Cost/benefit analysis has to way heavily into prioritization of what to do next, and there's a LOT of stuff to work on yet with DUST. In honesty, more weapons is probably a fairly small need in the grand scheme of things.

I do. Please try it yourself.

This is a great comment to use if you want people who answer questions to the best of their ability to ignore you in the future and find other people to interact with.
I represent the players to CCP, yes. I pass on feedback from the players to CCP. Anything I post on the forums, is not an 'official capacity' thing. Because my job as a CPM is to talk to CCP, not to you. So when I blow off a lot of my free time answering questions, I get really tired of getting comments like this back.

WoW......
Well there you have it. Your job inst to talk to players? Please explain the point of the CPM then?
And whilst on the Forums with your CPM tag you do represent they role. Otherwise what is the point?
I do apologize for being an unhappy player and voicing my unhappiness. Although giving feedback is what I was trying to do and being fobbed off because I wont do it nicely. How ever as you have stated quite clearly you are not here to listen or talk to me.
Well done CPM.
I Salute you o7

The CPM's job has never been to talk to players, except perhaps if it helps us do our job. Our role is to collect player feedback, and then present it to CCP. As well as present a players' perspective to CCP on internal discussions they are not yet ready to post publicly. Our job is to inform CCP. It is CCP's job to inform you. They are somewhat bad at the latter, so sometimes I try and answer some questions because I'm a nice person.
You asked a question "what's being done about it", and I answered it immediately "CCP Rattati posted this about making new heavy weapons", and then you continued further into why it hadn't happened already, which I explained. Then you took a stab at me for doing so. But if you look at the thread, I'm not doing bad for addressing your concerns, IMHO.

Another silly question if I may then?
How do you pass on player feedback if you don't talk to players?

You just did.

Reading. ;) Though occasionally talking does help, as you can ask for clarification or such.
In fact, many times where I am trolling or being otherwise useless in a thread, it is a good indication that I have, in fact, read that thread. I just may not have had anything constructive to add to it myself.

That statement right there, sums up CPM for me. If you don't talk to players, how do you know what to pass forward? How do we know what you are voicing to CCP about?
Oh wait.... Your job isn't to talk to us. Just better the gameplay based on your opinion and not the whole.
When do can we vote out CPM? Even better, when can we just have a CCP dev/representative forward and answer our questions and concerns to CCP.
Thank god for CCP Rattati!!

Starlight, you missed my point entirely. Our job is to collect feedback, and then transfer that feedback to CCP in a concise and integrated manner. We're not supposed to be answering questions for CCP.
The path of information should be: Players -> CPM -> CCP.
Sometimes we answer the questions we can get away with, but predominantly, our posts are our opinions. Having a player attack me in the same way that Jade did above, is a great way to get me to stop bothering to be helpful to someone.
If you expect that the CPM's job is to regurgitate what you say back to you in agreement, you missed our job description. Just because you're a player doesn't mean everyone else agrees with you, or we agree with you, or our collected feedback is in your favor or against it. Part of the job is most certainly to weed out useless or incorrect information.
People crying about ancient history before CCP Rattati took over, and then questioning how I 'act' as a CPM because I do not agree with every statement made should not have even garnered as much attention as I have so offered with my precious unpaid volunteer time on these forums.
