Rattati posted this recently: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2483325#post2483325
To me, racial parity is completely irrelevant, mind you. The most important factor to me is if something added provides a big added benefit to gameplay. Not having as big of a team creating stuff as they used to makes unique new weapons tougher, but after a lot of stuff that Rattati has been working on fixing to get the game somewhat back on track, it starts to look much more possible to devote time to stuff like this.

Jade Dragonis wrote:How ever the team they have can do new map and loads of new sockets and lets not forget thier money making suits. Yet heavy weapons are honestly forgotten.
Maps were already made. Heavy weapons are not.
Jade Dragonis wrote:Newer versions of new weapons are around. Including new Officer variants yet still no new heavy weapons. It cant be as difficult as they say since the introduction of so many weapons since leaving BETA.
Officer variants are changing a couple numbers in a database. Designing entirely new weapons is not so easy.

Jade Dragonis wrote:And we where asking for the heavy weapons since before all of those.
And before all of those, DUST 514 had pretty much a completely different development team then they do now. So complaining about what that team did or didn't do has basically no fundamental use in this conversation. It's not productive. CCP Rattati was not in charge of DUST before Hotfix Alpha, and is not responsible for their decisions back then.
The current team is not anywhere near as large as the old team, and has to work with what they have. Cost/benefit analysis has to way heavily into prioritization of what to do next, and there's a LOT of stuff to work on yet with DUST. In honesty, more weapons is probably a fairly small need in the grand scheme of things.

I do. Please try it yourself.
Jade Dragonis wrote:You represent the players as a CPM. Please act like it.
This is a great comment to use if you want people who answer questions to the best of their ability to ignore you in the future and find other people to interact with.
I represent the players to CCP, yes. I pass on feedback from the players to CCP. Anything I post on the forums, is not an 'official capacity' thing. Because my job as a CPM is to talk to CCP, not to you. So when I blow off a lot of my free time answering questions, I get really tired of getting comments like this back.

The CPM's job has never been to talk to players, except perhaps if it helps us do our job. Our role is to collect player feedback, and then present it to CCP. As well as present a players' perspective to CCP on internal discussions they are not yet ready to post publicly. Our job is to inform CCP. It is CCP's job to inform you. They are somewhat bad at the latter, so sometimes I try and answer some questions because I'm a nice person.
You asked a question "what's being done about it", and I answered it immediately "CCP Rattati posted this about making new heavy weapons", and then you continued further into why it hadn't happened already, which I explained. Then you took a stab at me for doing so. But if you look at the thread, I'm not doing bad for addressing your concerns, IMHO.

Jade Dragonis wrote:Another silly question if I may then?
You just did.
Jade Dragonis wrote:How do you pass on player feedback if you don't talk to players?
Reading. ;) Though occasionally talking does help, as you can ask for clarification or such.
In fact, many times where I am trolling or being otherwise useless in a thread, it is a good indication that I have, in fact, read that thread. I just may not have had anything constructive to add to it myself.

Starlight, you missed my point entirely. Our job is to collect feedback, and then transfer that feedback to CCP in a concise and integrated manner. We're not supposed to be answering questions for CCP.
The path of information should be: Players -> CPM -> CCP.
Sometimes we answer the questions we can get away with, but predominantly, our posts are our opinions. Having a player attack me in the same way that Jade did above, is a great way to get me to stop bothering to be helpful to someone.
If you expect that the CPM's job is to regurgitate what you say back to you in agreement, you missed our job description. Just because you're a player doesn't mean everyone else agrees with you, or we agree with you, or our collected feedback is in your favor or against it. Part of the job is most certainly to weed out useless or incorrect information.
People crying about ancient history before CCP Rattati took over, and then questioning how I 'act' as a CPM because I do not agree with every statement made should not have even garnered as much attention as I have so offered with my precious unpaid volunteer time on these forums.
